1.Kick-ass story
2.Kick-ass magnum
3.An actual challenging campaign
4.Great LAN multiplayer
5.Great Intro
6.Great ending level
7.Changed first-person shooter games =]
1. Every Halo game had a great story except for Halo Wars.
2. Magnum is back in ODST and is a lot more accurate plus shoots faster and I believe it has a higher zoom.
3. ODST has the most challenging campaign. Especially on Legendary since you are no longer a Spartan Super Soldier like in the previous Halo games.
4. But it doesn't have online multiplayer except for the PC version.
5. What do you mean by intro? The first level? Well, the first level kind of didn't give you any background. It just kind of dropped you right into the middle of a battle. In fact, the purpose of Halo Wars and Halo Reach will be to complete the intro for Halo 1. On the other hand, I liked the Halo 2 intro with the ceremonies. The ODST intro is amazing because you're actually in the HEV Pods as an ODST dropping from Orbit. Sure all the Halo games had some scene where you drop from orbit, but ODST is the first where you witness it in 1st person.
6. Yeah, the ending wasn't that bad. But Halo 3 had a more dramatic and emotional ending. As for ODST, well, it's ending was different and somewhat a rip-off from a few movies. And to no surprise, ODST had another long driving mission. Halo 1 & Halo 3 had pretty fun driving missions (warthog runs), but ODST's warthog run was just annoying especially because you had to protect Dare and the Engineer.
7. Actually, Halo 1 did change FPS's, but not to the extent of an even older game. Some people might say Counter Strike revolutionized FPS games. But I say an even older classic game changed FPS's forever. That game is: Goldeneye 64 on the Nintendo 64. Not only did it have features that wouldn't be seen again for many years until Halo 1, but it's multiplayer despite being only local was much more replayable than any Halo game thus far in my opinion. I'd like to see a remake of it on the 360. Goldeneye, back then, already had tons of weapons and maps like Halo. You also had the ability to dual-wield certain weapons like in Halo 2. There was also a vehicle level where you got to drive a tank. Vehicle combat that was good would not be seen again until Halo 1.
So in my opinion, the most revolutionary First-Person Shooter game would be Goldeneye 64. All subsequent FPS games just took a lot of their ideas from Goldeneye. But ODST is a lot more creative because of it's different gameplay style which you don't normally see in a FPS.
