I mean, look at the public reaction. People can't find nothing wrong to say about the game. In fact, while probably the E3 Press Conference Demo didn't quite get people excited (I have to say, ODST did and probably does not demo well), the Press Demos with the epic detailed 20 minute Demos were great. Sure. The games media started talking about ODST and even they couldn't say anything bad about it. People are loving it, almost everywhere. I probably can name only one games press site out there who are not as enthusiastic about ODST as most other sites are but they think its cool too.

Then, the ViDoc is rolled out and literally, hundreds of non-believers everywhere, stunned, start nodding their heads and go 'Yes'. But still, the general excitement isn't there.

I mean, come on! Its a Halo game, for crying out loud! You should be hearing about this everywhere. It feels pretty weird, seeing a Halo game being the underdog for once. But, what's the problem?

Do people have to get their hands on it first? Is Modern Warfare 2 stealing the thunder of ODST? Are people sick of Halo? Do people maybe not trust a Halo with no Master Chief? I of course, have my own, elaborate idea of things but what do you guys think?

it appears you have fallen into a sarchasm...
its the gap between someone making a sarcastic comment, and you picking up on that sarcasm...

Here's what I say:
Who gives a -blam!- what other people think. If you like it and they don't thats fine!

  • 08.04.2009 7:54 AM PDT

My troll sense is tingling.

It's because of all the -blam!- of doody fanboys saying their game is going to revolutionize gaming.

"Take my advice. Rookie. You ever fall for a woman?

...Make sure she's got balls."

There is a plague composed of horrible unbalanced class-based gameplay that takes no skill known as CoD that people think is the best game ever.

That's why ODST isn't getting all of its well deserved glory.

Typical Halo nerd. Move along.

There are a lot of people talking about it. Where have you been?

I agree, Sanjeev.

It doesn't seem very hyped up. But, I'm glad the ViDoc got ODST some believers.

I hope Microsoft does another huge ad campaign for Halo: Reach.

Really, I like a Halo without master chief and I like MW2 but I am anticipating ODST more.

I've been everywhere really and honestly, its not getting the talk it deserves.

That's because it's had a lack of advertising, if you don't come to Bungie.net or read the coverage on ign or the likes, you wouldn't know the game existed.

Thing is the various avenues of Gaming information do have their previews. I believe they are notified instantly, or even before, anything new gets released regarding the game. For the most part, most of the relevant information is out there in multiple outlets.

At least, that's how I feel.

But its true in a way too though, there hasn't been much advertising done. Outside of the ViDoc, E3 and Comic Con, there have been nothing else.

It all depends on who's interested in what. Of course, there are millions of people who want the game, but other people like the feel of MW2, so they'll get that. And there's the people who will get both games. I'm not a fanboy who sticks with one game so I'm getting both of them, plus Bad Company 2, and Bioshock 2.

That is true, as well. I'm personally getting the Limited Edition for ODST as well as the Hardened Edition for Modern Warfare 2 because I know I can enjoy both games. Probably be getting Bioshock 2 and Bad Company 2 as well.

Most of my friends aren't getting it because it doesn't have matchmaking, they'd rather get MW2.

  • 08.04.2009 8:21 AM PDT

Plekpedia - The most epic site in the history of ever.

It is not getting any love at all.

That is why it has an entire forum, and everyday on videogame websites I see a new article on it, and it is in all the magazines lately. That's why me and most of my friends have it pre-ordered.

No love at all right?

Wednesday 13 is the best vocalist ever. /fact, not opinion

only a few of my friends even heard of it so i've had to explain what it is in like 5 minutes but none of them have even heard of BioShock which is Bio-Shocking (see my little pun) i can't wait for ODST or BS2 so it's quite clear that either my friends need to do some serious internet time looking for games or the gaming world really needs to up it's advertising campaigns
i mean look at the ads for halo 3 there were quite alot of them being shown on t.v but i haven't even seen one for ODST has anyone seen a t.v ad for ODST?

Would you shut up? MW2 will be a great game, better then ODST I think. It has the best multiplayer, and a great story. Just because a game isn't HALO, doesn't mean it sucks.

See that, guys? SEE THAT?!

Aye, only one of my friends is gonna buy Halo 3: ODST and the others are gonna buy MW2. I'm just gonna do Firefight all the time by myself or with my friend who is nearly never online. Firefight beats MM big time and also, MW2. :)

Well let's see why:

CoD fanboys are getting jobs at G-Stop just to get Halo fans to preorder MW2
People think that every thing needs to be on bilboards and TV(I was in a forum, 6 v 1, the one didn't think ODST was good because it wasn't on TV, me and the 5 others on the 6 tell him 'IT DOES NOT NEED TO BE ON TV TO BE GREAT!!!')
BR n00bs are telling their friends not to get it because of no BR
N00bs tell their friends not to get it because your not a Spartan and no dual-weilding

Those are the only reasons that I know of so far, if I find any more I'll post them.

Plekpedia - The most epic site in the history of ever.

I wish the person I pre-ordered ODST from would've told em to get MW2.

Why?

I would've told him how much better Halo is.

Personally, I love the halo series. In fact I love it so much I already pre-ordered halo 3 odst. It looks fantastic in my own opinion. And I really can't wait till the day I get to play as Johnson in firefight. Now that was a good marketing technique. Im actually at the point of wanting halo 3 odst so much that I want to flame anyone who thinks they know so much about it, and how its not going to be good. I dont think I will ever be sick of halo, or it's creator, Bungie, and I hope that there are many more halo games to come.
