Not me
even the new characters are cool
although I recon that some of the levels are more fun than in Halo2 in number 1.
Overall Halo 2 is better

Halo 2 was too easy. I beat it on Legendary nine times. I just beat Halo 1 on the same setting for the first time last weekend.

How can a game be -blam!-? I'd say Halo 1 was more "-blam!-" with the whole Elite touching Johnsons ass.

I like them both equally, when I think about it.
Halo 1's a great ride, just fun the whole way through.Takes the best elements of my favorite sci-fi flicks and crams them into one amazing game. I first played it splitscreen and thought it was cool....when I finally got to play the campaign(non split screen) it blew my mind.
It doesn't have unlockables, there's not much hidden stuff, but Halo is one of the very few games that seems to unlimited replayability. I've played through the campaign once a month, every month since I got the game 4 years ago. I can't say that about ANY other game.

Halo 2 is also a great ride. The storyline was incredible, opened up my interest in the Halo universe even more. The pacing in Halo 2 wasn't quite as tight as Halo 1's, but that's probably because I was standing around and staring at the enviroments with my jaw dropped.
I thought the visual upgrade was amazing. The storyline changes were pretty ambitious, but I thought they paid off. It was cool to see Earth, and the Covenant's High Charity set up. It just brings your further and further into the world Bungie made, and the stuff is just.....cool.
I think everybody issued a collective WTF at the end of Halo 2, and I did too. Not that the game was too short, or that the campaign wasn't satisfying. The closing was just abrupt. I could have kept playing Halo 2's campaign forever.

Halo 2's multiplayer is AMAZING. The setup, everything. It sets standards. You won't hear any complaints from me on the multiplayer. Sure it ain't perfect, but no online game is. But it's a 100 times better than any other console MP game out there. The Matchmaking system was an incredible idea. It makes it very difficult for me to go back to server lists and stuff on other games.

Finally, I have to make honorable mention of Halo 1 and Halo 2's soundtracks. Halo 1's was great, Halo 2's was masterful. I hear it's dangerous to fuel Martin O'Donnell's ego, but the guy deserves mad credit for his work on Halo 2. Best soundtrack I've ever heard in an action game.

Halo 1 by a longshot. Bungie -blam!- up halo 2 in a pethora of reasons. Halo 2 has massive auto aim. Its not aim assistince its auto aim. Bungie just calls it aim assistince because it doesn't sound as bad as auto aim. How can you lunge like that when you melee a guy? And the weapons are completely unbalaced. The sword is the 1# most noobed up weapon in any video game ever. The rockets are noob weapons as well. No fall damage. What jackass thought up that. And did I mention the auto aim? So imo i think halo 1 is better. Flame away. Oh, yeah the storyline ruined it for me the most. Their on earth for a grand total of 3 missions. And they take you to another halo. They could of thought of something more origanal. Actually I would have loved this game if it had the same story line as "Halo:the First Strike".

â–ºProminent Communiquéâ—„ Where great minds think alike!

halo 1 was great when it came out and i still play campaign and have LAN parties. but the visual upgrades are un-ignorable. all the new weapons make it different each time and the dual-weilding seems cool at first then it annoys you but I found a place where i can enjoy it and take advantige of it. I keep hearing all this crap about the fall damage. its not a big deal. MAster Cheifs armor is better on this game and some of the multiplayer mapsrequire that you jump from high hights. colosus, ivory tower, water works. now the auto aim. i cant talk much about this. if people didnt need to take advantage of the sniper sweep, or the battle riffle hardly any one would notice.the story line for halo 2 is awesome. in halo1 I hardly ever thought i was fighting for a porpouse plus theres no escort missions like with Keyes so if he dies you die. the gameplay in halo1 is great but halo2 is an upgraded version. more unique maps, better graphics, more weapons, better vehicles, online, plus all the little things like my flag and the elites.

It is the soldier, not the reporter, who has given us freedom of the press. It is the soldier, not the poet, who has given us freedom of speech. It is the soldier, not the campus organizer, who has given us the freedom to demonstrate. It is the soldier, not the lawyer, who has given us the right to a fair trial. And it is the soldier who salutes the flag, who serves the flag, whose coffin is draped in the flag that allows the protester to burn the flag.Father Dennis Edward O'Brien, USMC

Halo 1 had a better story, the levels were more fun, and I loved the AR.

halo 1 in my opinion kills halo 2. halo 2 is jsut a watered down version of halo 1. halo 1 can not be duplicated. plain and simple

halo 2 has an ok campaign, halo 1 has an unbelievable campaign (i still play halo 1 campaign, but i only bothered to beat halo 2 once on normal and once on legendary)

Halo 1 multiplayer took more skill. It had less auto aim, and was far more balanced. Halo 2 is a watered down, noob friendly version of halo 1. However, i do love the fact that it has xbox live. And halo 2 still requires some skill, just not as much. The thing that really bothers me about 2 is that a crappy team can beat a much better team based on who spawns closer to the power weapons. MLG settings help with this, but matchmaking does not incorporate MLG gametypes. Spawning with the Halo 1 pistol gave anyone a chance at any range against any weapon. Halo 2 battle rifle helps, but it not as effective as the pistol, and it also requires much less skill to use.

Their are many other things that halo 1 did better. Like the old physics engine. also the hitboxes were much smaller, making headshots require much more skill. Im gonna stop now because I know I could go on forever about this. Let me just some it up by saying:
Halo 2 is a really good game, Halo 1 is the best game ever.

Halo 1>Halo 2

See Halo 1 takes the cake because there was much more skill involved. If you were really good you could actually take out 4 or 5 people and not die. While in Halo 2 your very reliant on your teamates and might get 3 kills by yourself if your luck. I'm not talking about the sniper...and the rocket launcher don't even go there. Also in halo 2 the rockets "home" in on the target if you reticule is red, so your rocket will move in on the person if you reticule is red and it won't hit where you want it. While in halo 1 it hits where you aim it. Halo 2 also has a lot of B.S. in it. It won't always kill someone when they should die. come one, totally lagless and you shoot someone in the head with a shotgun and hit them in the back. Countless times I have shot someone point blank with a shotty and they don't die. The shotgun can be random. And whats with the sword having unlimited ammo? Seriously how about we put an ammo count on the sword, you can kill people with one hit! It NEEDS a certain ammount of ammo. I'm not bad at Halo 2, but Halo 1 is definetly superior.

July 15, 2008... The day the timer stood still.

Halo 1 has a better Campaign, but Halo 2 has XBL, so I think Halo 2 has better overall Multiplayer.

I own and played both and I think Halo 2 is better just because it is newer and has certain aspects in it that I really wish I had in Halo 1. Why does it take 2 hands to hold a pistol? It doesn't make sense. ARGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! (twitch)

I like halo 2 just a little more. I mean, all the new guns and vehicles, how can you not like it?

Yeah Halo:CE multiplayer was is the best thing ever.Halo 2 was only an ok game for me.Even after I bought Halo 2 I still play Halo:CE more, if I play Halo 2 at all.

I honestly cannot choose one way or the other, they are both fantastic games. There are things in Halo: CE that I wish were in Halo 2 and there are things in Halo 2 that I wish were in Halo: CE. As far as storyline I dont think you can say one is better than the other since they are the same story one is just a continuation of the other.

I don't know why people complain about the gmeplay being easier in H2. I think that is a good thing. If it is that much easier, then shouldn't you still be owning everyone. Anyway, sure I like to own people and get big blow out victories, but I also like a good match that comes down to one last battle in the middle of the map, that makes the game so much more enjoyable. Also, who cares if it is easier to beat H2 campaign mode, that only means that you can beat up on some covies and flood pretty well, but can you kill that blue master cheif with the RL on the other side of the map, go ahead and try, I dare ya.
