I don't have time now to post my entire wishlist, but this is just one thing I would really like to see in Halo Reach. Sure, it doesn't change gameplay, but I still want it.
My idea:

Battle Damaged Armor. Remember in Halo 2 how you're multiplayer character had battle damage? Well, in Halo Reach, I would like to have that option again, but this time, as I said, it's an OPTION. Like, you can apply battle damaged in a graduated scale. Like, 0% is like new, 10% you start seeing scratches, 20%, you see scrapes and more scratches, and so on and so forth. And top of that, you can have battle damage decals. Like, in Create-A-Spartan (or Elite), you can paste decals on any part of your Spartan, whether it be a bullet hole, plasma burn, scratch, scuff, or scrape. And then, once it's applied, you can change to rotation, size, opacity, etc. It's just a small idea, but I would really like to see this in Halo: Reach. Maybe even a battle damage scale in game. For instance, you die, you respawn, and now you have more battle damage on your armor. But this would only be for that specific game and isn't permanent. So you start a new game, and bam, your armor is like new again. Even players that don't die receive battle damage from being shot at, meleed, etc. It would be cool if you could have a signature "scar." For instance, the game lets you set a scar anywhere on the Spartan, and when they you kill an enemy, that scar appears on them. You can have up to 3 customizable scars that can be placed on your enemy, so that each time you kill them, one of your "kill scars" will popup on them. And if you kill them more than three times, the scar's opacity increases, making the scar appear deeper. It would also be cool to see in the Carnage results who recieved the most battle damage, which can be taken as a sign of either veterancy or a sign of being lesser skilled. You know how you see the other player's Spartans when you preview their Service Record? Something like that, but they appeared battle damaged until you leave the lobby, and you can view each individual "scar" and see who left it.

Comments?

Being splattered will leave a dent in your armor. Zl0rfik
Battle scarring should be a preset decal only and not received in game as to prevent lag. Upset Goldfish

I added a feature to the end of my wish. It's small and unnoticable, so that's why I made a new post. Sorry if this is considered a bump...

I don't think you are allowed to talk about bungie on Bungie.net.

It would probably be better to have spartans spawn with brand new armor and have it damaged in different ways depending on what is shot at them. Possibly dents from vehicles as well.

The thing is, realtime graphical battle scarring that stays with your character would be a computational nightmare to code. It would increase lag by quite a sufficient amount. If battle scarring was a preset to armour, just like an armour perm, it would be more do-able. It is lag and coding that are the main obstacles to this ever becoming a reality.

I'm annoyed that I didn't think about that, lol. Hopefully, when this dies, I'll revive the topic with that in mind. It's a little too late at this point, but good pointer.
