Actually they are about equal in hand to hand combat.

Truthfully, I'd be a Grunt.

I'd want to be an Elite though

You mean Spartans and Elites? Video proof that Spartans dominate Elites Spoiler warning from Halo Wars...For starters the Spartans dominate those Elites and second of all, Sergeant Forge kills the Arbiter in hand to hand combat...

Also if they're equal, how come MC managed to whipe out hundreds of them in Halo CE and Halo 2? Or why, in Ghosts of Onyx, can't loads of Elites, Hunters and Grunts take out a few Spartan 2's, some Spartan 3's, Doctor Halsey and CPO Mendez?

Read the books, Master Chief fought an elite in unarmed hand to hand combat, both had shields (unlike the elites in Halo Wars) and he just barely won, Arbiter underestimated Forge, and MC wiped em all out, yes, but if the Elites never split from the Covenant, then in the end, they would have won the war. The Spartan II's and III's from Onyx knew the terrain much better and could set up traps/ambushes, the Spartans ONLY won because of the nuke that Kurt set off in Onyx, without that, they would have been overrun and decimated.

EDIT: Also in Halo and Halo 2 the Covenant were also fighting the Flood, so were distracted by more threatening enemies then the Chief.

I'm a n00b.

GTFO I will be a red drone as they look sick

Go Rams and Missouri!

I'm going to choose other, because I want to be a drone. No matter what you say, they are in the Covenant. And they are also incredibly smart, they are at Teir 2 of tech, to put that in perspective, the Forerunners were at 1, the Precursors at 0 (so it gets smarter the lower you go). Humanity is at 3. The Elites are at tier 3 as well, as are the prophets.

...
- in which book does MC fight an elite in hand-to-hand (i have only read 4 of them)
- Arbiter had two Energy Swords and Forge had a dagger...Pretty hard for Arbiter to lose
- In Ghosts Of Onyx i was talking about when they were at the entrance to the Shield World in which they did not know the terrain and couldn't exactly ambush the Elites as they knew exactly where they were.

Elites are Tier 2...And i'm not too sure about Prophets but considering they travel around on floating chairs i imagine they're Tier 2 aswell...

Oops, sorry, guess I got a bit mixed up. Well, Elites can't fly around, and Prophets only have chairs, so I still choose Drones.

You made made my day. The Nova bomb(The one ONI and admiral Witcomb made) hopefuly got to near a covenant armada and blew up.But before it happened, a grunt was playing with the bomb and for him was the most beautiful light he ever saw.

A hunter, I could kill almost anybody that dares to challenge me to a battle. I could also be a scarab.

Halo Wars contradicts Halo in so many ways, do not use it as an example, and the Arbiter would have killed seargent Forge the first time they met, if you read the limited edition book it says he was ruthless, so hes really gonna let the guy live

How does it contradict it other than the fact that the prophet's voice actor changed?

And? The Flood can be in it...Bungie guided Ensemble on the story so it's obviously canon...

I'm an Anarchist. I don't need a government to be a good person, but I'm glad it's here because some of you clearly do.

I'd want to be a Drone. Drones can't feel fear.
