Subject: A.I. In Halo Reach

First things first, A.I. stands for Artificial Intelligence, like the guys in campaign.
Anybody here ever play Star Wars Battlefront 2? Was it not fun fighting alongside both players and A.I. Units? If Bungie incorporates this A.I. soldier system in Halo Reach, the term "Large scale battle" will take on new meaning.

I'm thinking players are (default) Spartans, elites and brutes.

For the UNSC you have A.I. Marines, Pilots, Spartans, Pelicans (destructible), etc.

For the Covenant you'll have A.I. Engineers, Brutes, Grunts, Hunters, Elites, Jackals and Drones.

How does A.I. sound to you?

Actually, the AI in starwars battle front were pretty dang stupid. I would know, as I could probably complete the entire conquest campaign single-handedly using just the soldier class. I don't want AI of that level protecting my back in Reach.

What im looking for is AI that is the oppisite of COD4 and 5 who are pieces of trash. that get in the way and let you die than shoot back. I want AI that has integrity of real soldiers and are good at combat if they are higher ranked. so if i was to have a spartan AI with me on easy and i went out there, killed alot of guys; than that spartan AI should be as good to do a 4th of the profficenty that i would do unlike those that do a 70th of the profficentcy. Most of all when you boost the difficulty the AI has a better respons to combat situations. Eample: The normal brute cheiftant can evade you stick gernades. On Legendary i was nomal brutes to be good enough to doge stick gernades at that profficentcy. The Allied AI im common case should be a real "helping hand" when you need someone to get your back and your playing single player. It's a real delema here of how much space will be left in the Disk. If they would use blu ray disk this would be a fry size order to fill than a tall 1.

Yeah, I remember in Battlefront 2 how i could just stand there and shoot and I wouldn't die.

But when I'm talking about multilayer I'm not talking about some god awful piece of trash A.I. Bungie has shown us with campaign that they can make a A.I., but can they make an A.I. for custom games? Matchmaking? Hell, even forge?

Dude do you have some sort of thing against increased customization? Even if you are against it because it MIGHT not work, you should still support because you like the idea.

I thought it was good.

And i take it your a fellow beast a Battlefont II?

I can play as a standard soldier, and never die once in a match. And get most of the kills. ^.^

Here’s what Luke had to say about the differences in treatment between the Spartans and Elites in Reach:

“Instead of piece-by-piece customization like the Spartans, Elite customization is a full model swap with models selected from the various Elite classes appearing throughout the Campaign. There are all kinds of reasons for this, not the least of which is our continued emphasis on the Spartan as your identity in Reach.”

Whatever they do, they need to discard the Brute AI from Halo 3 and retrieve the Elite AI from Halo 2 and CE.

Elites were actually challenging
Elites didn't have to break the rules (invulnerability equipment, sticky-proof armor)
Elites didn't just stand there, staring at you while you stripped them of their armor
Elites didn't /rage and then charge slowly at you.

I will put this as simply as I can: If not in the 3 game types, then what? Or are you a person who does not believe in A.I. and are only posting in these thread just to try and bug other people?

and I agree with the Elites, as long as they still say Wort Wort Wort.

Who here remembers the brute A.I. from halo 2? God that thing beat down fast. I hope if they put in a A.I. for brutes, it will be smarter than the Halo 3 version and less spazzy then the halo 2 version.
