Well, it will undoubtedly have the same, if not more marketing hype than Halo 3 did.

I'm not thinking it'll be as anticipated as Halo 3 was. Halo 3 was the conlusion to Master Chief's story-something to get more excited about rather than a glimpse of a previous battle. No doubt that it'll be similar top Halo 3 in the marketing sense, but I'm not predicting as much hype.

On the other hand, if it turns out that I'm wrong, the primary reason why it'd be hyped up so much (I'd think) is that this is Bungie's last Halo game.

prequels are NEVER more successful and im talking about gaming in general

Consider also that Bungie is its own company again, no longer under the stern control of Microsoft. Bungie has more control over their stuff, which I would fathom also includes the amount of marketting. They may choose to pull back on marketting it. Hypothetically speaking. It's possible.

I don't know if there'll be as much hype, but I bet it'll be hyped as much as possible.

I am the hand of fate!

The sendoff to one of the biggest, if not the biggest, franchises of all time? It better be hyped.

R.I.P. Halo 2
11/9/04 - 4/15/10

In all honesty, I don't get the same feeling about Reach as I got with Halo 2 and 3. This is probably because both Halo 1 and 2 left us with cliffhangers. With Reach, there isn't anything unfinished which we are anticipating. The high probability that we will not play as the Chief makes it puts a damper on it as well, along with the fact that we already know the end.

Does that mean I am not hyped for it? Absolutely not. This game is going to be amazing.

Loose talk is noose talk.

Probably. The hype machine should start to propagandize come spring 2010. Stay tuned, I suppose.

  • 08.04.2009 9:25 PM PDT

Beware the smiley face! =D

It'll have a hype, but not as much as Halo 3.

Halo 3 had that sort of blockbuster, death star, epic approaching storm sort of hype. Yaknow ,the one with about fifty orchastras playing the Halo 3 theme tune in the Halo 3 trailer?

Also, because we dont know what Reach will be like there will be more curiosity. With Halo 3, everyone knew it was "FINISH THE FIGHT AND KICK SERIOUS ASS AND EXPECT A SHORT CAMPAIGN"

Vancouver BC, Canada.

Yeah.

  • 08.04.2009 10:22 PM PDT

I think so, yes. Especially because Bungie will be rolling out a Halo Reach Beta sometime next year, which will get the hype train pumping all of that delicious coal exhaust into the atmosphere. Mmm coal exhaust.

I'd love to be a 10 year old and tell my mom I'm going on an adventure out into the world catching Pokemon, with her full support. Never mind the fact that there are rapists, criminals, and murders out there, or the fact that I may get killed by a Pokemon.

Luckily I have Pikachu.

Halo 1 ended with a Cliffhanger how?

  • 08.04.2009 10:51 PM PDT

A mythic member but I speak my mind to much.

To me it seems more anticipated for the Fans and people that have read the books. But probably not as exciting for people that are not as familiar with the games significance.

A year or so away and its already getting pretty awesome, cant wait.

A lot Happened between Halo 1 and 2 that the games never showed.
How Master Chief got back to earth, What Hasley's Mission was, The other Spartan projects on Reach, that we know where going on but were not mentioned much.

Nothing really ended though even after Halo 3. Where is the Chief going, What is the status of the flood on the other rings?

Im not even sure what my point is anymore, but there is a lot to the halo universe that hasnt been explored yet. we only saw the end of the story or that particular story for a few characters. If Bungie wanted to they could make a who new Halo series if they wanted to, there is a lot that could be done.

  • 08.04.2009 11:06 PM PDT

Well, I cant really say. If bungie pulls out all the stops and makes the most amazing game ever, then yes. But if halos going out with a whimper, well, Im sure some ppl will still buy it. Like I said, too early to say

Does anyone even read these?

It's hard to tell now, wait until some more trailers come out.

Ah yes. Because as we all know, having the main character drifting loose in space, with very little chance of ever returning home, is a completely watertight ending. Oh, and did MC not say himself he was just getting started? C'mon, did you even play CE through to the end? Thats more of a cliffhanger than Sylvester Stallone's hit movie, 'Cliffhanger'.

I don't think so.

This is a very unnecessary post. This will literally bring up no discussion, other than the words Yes or No. And the occasional 15 year old who forces his opinion into your post.

Hmm... Let me see. Halo: CE played out like this, Pillar of Autuom is attacked, people escape and find new world called Halo, they find Flood, Flood is released, to stop Flood Halo has to be activated which the humans attempt to do first to stop the Flood invasion, they realise what the Halo weapon really does, they blow up Halo ring, they escape on a well working ship that can easily travel them to a human colony somewhere.

Do you not know what a cliff hanger is? The whole story, everything that started in Halo: CE ended when the game finished. Halo 2 however was completely different.
