Just finished it on Heroic and it was AWESOME! The brutes actually felt like formidable opponents and I've been wanting to use the Halo 3 assault rifle on Elites ever since you made V1! I just have a few bugs/suggestions/comments to mention.

1. At the beginning all the covenant went into "Slow Motion" (I saw that in the extra features) halfway through two of the fights, but I didn't, which made it a tad to easy mind you. After activating Slow-mo and turning off a few times, this seemed to go away.

2. Just a few things with the blood, the brutes will cover a room with blood if hit by an assault rifle bullet, but will just leave a few puddles of human blood if hit by a grenade. Also, it could just be that my settings were low, but it looks like they occasionaly bleed grunt blood when hit with plasma rifles.

3. I did the thing where if you hit a hunter with AR or warthog fire it occasianaly bleeds flood blood, and I must say that new goop looks awesome :)

4. I assume there will be, but I'd like to just show my support for adding in music during "Whole New World" and other new areas. (That really was a pleasant suprise btw!)

In the Covenant boarding craft, we replaced one of the overshields with the "doublespeed" powerup. The pickup string erroneously refers to it as a Magnum. It sounds like you picked that up and didn't realize it.

For those that don't know, Halo 1 and Halo 2 both contain remnants of two unused, unfinished powerup types, doublespeed and full-spectrum vision. Double speed works well enough that we decided to use it in the mod. We couldn't get full-spectrum vision to do anything, though.

SWEET JESUS THAT WAS AWESOME!!
The M6C/S was a great replacement for the regular pistol, I loved the new playing field, I constantly found my enemies actually posing a threat to me, and I about -blam!- my pants when I saw I could pick up the Hunter's Assault Cannon.
I only found a few hiccups.
One, no plasma grenades.
Two, when you try to pick up the yellow powerup in the Covenant hatch pod, it only says you pick up the M6c.
Three, the battery alert always tells you your battery based weapon is empty.
Those were the only major flaws.
Minor ones such as the timing in some dialogue not being synced, or the BR sounds being a little glitchy don't really matter since it doesn't at all affect the game too much.
I can see why it's taking so long to finish. That was amazingly long!

Yes, I am a hypocrite, and I'm sorry. I really do mean well, but I'm not running on all cylinders.

Everytime someone buys a copy of Halo 2 Vista, a puppy dies.

That was sweet. I quit early the first time around, so I didn't see the new areas until playing through tonight. Exciting! I made good use of plasma on the Brutes, hehe. That sweet single head shot with BR was very satisfying. I found some of the areas confusing to navigate at first, but it wasn't too hard. The red lighting in the tunnels, and the slanted walkways was a cool change of atmosphere. The only complaint I have, and I know you can't do much about it, is some of the repetiive textures on the floor tiles. Aside from that, totally awesome. Thanks, and looking forward to what comes next,

Also, you said you would extend some levels by 3 hours. Could you please not do that to the library?

ya... PLEASE dont extend the library... i hated that level... i have to put the game on easy to beat it...

i only beat it on legendary by using devmode LOL

Badass Elite units

With the new BPS or BSP (idk whitch way it goes) the hanger type area (borading action) you have to run thought and kill everything then run back and you can then go down the ladder at the start of the area as the grating dissapears, will you put a switch or somthing at the end of the area so you know that you can carry on with the level also you could add some signs to help stop people from getting lost.

You could do that in SPV1 also, it was just invisible and had no first-person model.

There's a reason they said play it on Heroic, none of the enemys on POA use plasma grenades on regular Halo if you play on Normal or Easy. If you bump it up though, they do, and they are awesome. Plus brutes throw frags which presents a completely new challenge.

I have not noticed many problems, the only ones that i know of is the SMG losing a full clip every reload, i counteracted this by never reloading with it, and some error strings, the blood is a bit much for my laptop though........
(my laptop is a piece of -Blam!-, i can barley run Halo with it. Problems with my laptop include: missing colours that vary, occasional overheating and crashing, and being indestructible.)
Can't wait to play it on my PC. i bet the full version is gonna rock!

I never played SPV1, though I downloaded all the files. Kinda wish I had to learn about a specific error which I already made a thread about.

I also must have missed the part about Heroic/Legendary XD
I never knew that; I just always play Normal on my first run through of any game. I'll make a second run on Legendary later.

One more thing, I remember seeing brutes at times losing insane amounts of blood. Nearly 3 gallons spilled on the floor from one gut shot.

There is a major bug (in my opinion) that makes you waste a lot of SMG ammo.
ex. I fire one shot, 59 bullets remaining in my clip, right? when I go to reload, instead of subtracting 1 from my remaining ammo, it goes and takes away the full 60 bullets.


It's probably intended. The assault rifle on halo 1 xbox behaved that way as well. It makes sense considering you are dumping an entire clip, if inconsistent.

One thing which is slightly silly is that your spawn points are the same for multiple enemies. In certain areas, if you get the sneak on the enemies, you can see multiple towers of elites and grunts, some stacked 3 high even. Makes it quite easy to clear out rooms. I think it's much easier on heroic/legendary than normal, since the enemies have so many plasma grenades. I barely had to fire my gun, and the chain reactions that resulted from killing a single enemy and throwing a grenade near the body tended to completely wipe out rooms.

Most of the PC issues posted here are the result of PEBKAC.

So I see I'm not the only person that had the enemy models go in slow motion for a bit. The framerate was fine, but the animations for the Brutes was slowed down for some reason.

Also, there were some framerate drops in sections where there weren't any enemies.

Overall though, I enjoyed it.

That pistol is a little powerful for something with a silencer, don't ya think?

To be completely honest this was a huge let down. The texturing looks horrible, the HUD is absolutely disgusting, and level does not play well. I can say the one thing I liked out of the whole thing was the masterchief model, but the skin killed it. For being CE it was not impressive at all.

Pretty much the same as my own gripes. Some of the changes seemed to be just for the sake of it, not because they were an improvement on what was already there.

However, I do think it's good that they're still actively working on things in the HPC community. ;)

The AI encounters were lacking in this mod, it certainly isn't the best sp map ever made.

The one and only.

Well it was an upgrade from the vanilla version and SPV1 but the only problem I have with it is the extended length. Its supposed to be a short opening level. But in this version you keep on going and run into sleeping grunts? I thought the covenant were attacking and boarding the PoA not setting up camp. I also didn't like the SMG because you lost the whole clip when reloading. I did read the thread on modacity and I know your not changing it. Overall it was really fun. You did a great job on making it!
