*Ability for secondary color to just be like halo 2, arms and legs, and NOT the shoulders(this is just because in H3 i have my symbol the same color as my secondary color, but you can't see it in-game, so the ability to choose Halo 2 style would fix this.)

I would quite like to see leg permutations. I always thought that the legs looked too skinny with certain armours. Also having boots and gloves individually from the torso or legs could be cool.

  • 08.05.2009 11:32 PM PDT

I would rather have the ability to import pictures to use as emblems and be able to colour each piece of armour differently, so have a red left shoulder, a camoflage right shoulder and stripey legs. Just have 1 base colour for the entire suit of armour and then be able to use different shapes to create any pattern you want. It would be cool to see a spartan in multiplayer with a picture of peter griffin on his back with the amount of customisation this could add

I agree with everything you say. I love your customizable HUD option the most! And they should really have an RGB editor by now.

If I had to add one thing it would be this, be able to change the color of your visor, instead of always having to go with gold. (Maybe also effect the opacity like in the ODST cutscenes?)

Not going to happen think about all the pronz people would put on their spartans. Unless they have a whole bunch of pictures approved which can be downloadable via Bungie.net. Cool idea though.

No matter how many times I forget about this place, I always get dragged back.

I'm more than okay with that.

Only problem is whether visor colors would be limited - Black spartans with Dark visors on a map like Blackout? Cheapo-depot.

I think these all sound pretty good, but to add to a bit, I would like to just see a make your own emblem feature. The emblems can't be large files and all you would need is a basic "paint" interface. and it would add a lot of awesome to what the community could do

I am so disappointed in people like you. Assuming every idea is like CoD.

When I first entered this thread I was prepared to just say no horrible idea, as I was expecting it to be how Halo should be like COD....

But is idea is awesome, I want it.

Great thread BTW.

Here's another thought I just had: Allowing you to choose what weapon your Player Model in your Service Record poses with, rather than AR for Spartans and Plasma Rifle for Elites. This way, if you love the Sniper Rifle, or the Needler, or any weapon, you can show that love.

How would this be moderated? Simply having a "Report Offensive Emblem" button wouldn't work for two reasons. With so many possibilities it would be impossible to stop them all, and they would have to have a team working around the clock to make sure the reports are legitimate, and not some angry 12-year old reporting somebody for purposely matching his emblem in Matchmaking, for the sake of silliness (I do it all the time).

Here’s what Luke had to say about the differences in treatment between the Spartans and Elites in Reach:

“Instead of piece-by-piece customization like the Spartans, Elite customization is a full model swap with models selected from the various Elite classes appearing throughout the Campaign. There are all kinds of reasons for this, not the least of which is our continued emphasis on the Spartan as your identity in Reach.”

Yes.

But for the color picker, the hue needs to be at maximum saturation and the darker colors (blue, green, purple etc.) need to be brighter so that one color doesn't have a serious advantage over another.

This happens a lot currently. Blue has a serious advantage on maps like Narrows, where there is both shadow and blue tint. This needs to be reduced.

I agree completely.

Possibly. I know sometimes people have Security shoulders and it makes them look top-heavy.

Service tags aren't meant to be anything more than an easy way to distinguish one team mate from another - would "hey guy with the pound sign and the accented e" be any better than "hey guy with the skulls and diamond"?

What they really should do is make them random upon game start to avoid conflicting tags, or just to check for them and alter one of them for that match so that there are no conflicts

Yeah, I assessed that in a later post. But keeping tags to 5 characters with letters, numbers, and punctuation would be fine.

  • 08.07.2009 12:44 AM PDT

They need to keep tags like they are. I actually call things out such as t62 a45 n67 b13 k19 etc. I would not call out POOP... -blam!-E.... DOGG... DAWD...DOOOD.... WWWWW ...... PWNIN or anything like that.

  • 08.07.2009 12:48 AM PDT

Check Out my FileShare.
I was once on Bungie Faves. (Feb.7-15)
I'd like to know why I can't see the signatures of others of myself on the forum. I have made favs once, 7777 campaign kills, and I helped bring modders down when they were at their strongest

Agreed

I'd rather see that than see more of I87, D13, H03, L01, etc.

It doesn't matter what you would rather see. Tags are for call outs. I Don't want to have to say hey T5H47 or Db4g I would much rather say yo t40 enemies are at certain place around your spot. If Bungie gave us COD4 like options for our tags I'll quit playing Halo.

How many times can you see =.= or ,=,0 before you wanna kill yourself.

These are some great idea's and i do find it annoying that rogue and ODST dont have body's or shoulder's

The service tag should only be numbers and letters. This way players don't have stupid service tags that look like guns or lawnmowers. I think everyone knows what game I'm referring to here.
lols nice call MuffinMan and your rite, stupid fish...

Iam enjoying Halo Reach and revisiting some past Bungie games, iam a big fan of Bungie and their online community.

I like these ideas.
Maybe if we can add small things like ammo pouches, holsters etc.
