Would anyone else like to see even a small aspect of this included. I think the game could be so much more dynamic with both ground and space combat. It could be a fun game mode having the Cruisers and Destroyers exchange fire while Longswords and Seraphs fight it out in the middle.

Yes but much more indepth. Rather then only fighting in small fighters, have MACs and plasma torpedos available onboard the main ships.

One thing about star wars battlefront ship battles compared to halo was in star wars the ships have about the same strength in halo, the covenant are on a whole different level it takes about three unsc ships to beat one covenant equivalent. Not to mention the covenant also has a bigger fleet then the unsc.

Thats why you give the Covenant less ships or even one. It would force the UNSC players to work together to take down a superior force. Then teams could cycle through UNSC and Covenant.

Rawr Im a dino!

id like this just imagine this as a match making game. You have two teams one elites other spartan. THen you are in your ship and you have turrets you may go on and alot of ships you can drive to attack incoming ships. Like the longsword would be drivable the pelican would be to. SO would the phantom and if they brought back the old covenant dropship thatd be cool.

To the person who posted below me.

You could just have it so there is so many lives and when you kill all the enemy the ship just blows up.

One thing is a covenant ship can destory a unsc ship in a single blow or can even destroy multiple in a single shot. Not to mention that they also have longer range and energy shields that can deflect shots. Sure you can give the unsc more ships, but how would you control them?

I guess you could have players able to pilot the ships while others have control of MACs, rockets, Shivas, etc. And you could have a mode where damage is more equal or a realistic mode for teams that want a real challenge.

Yea, you could have some cool game modes with different objectives like that.

This apple is brown, and rotten. This orange on the other hand, is in relatively average shape. So the orange is definitely the preferable option.
----------You can't compare apples and oranges. You're so dumb.

I don't know about that. All I know is, I want atleast one level that takes place in space. Both Halo 1, and 2 had one as their first mission. I fully expected the first mission in Halo 3, to take place in the Forerunner Dreadnought, in earths orbit.

Back on topic, I don't think thats going to happen. Getting space battles to work, would be real tough. I don't think its going to happen. Because it either wouldn't live up to the quality of the rest of the game. Or it would take too much resources to get it right, and that would hurt the rest of the project that way. Im not opposed to getting a better view of a space battle. Nor am I opposed to a future Halo game, that features space battles. But I don't think it would work here.

I think that instead of giving the UNSC just a ship or two agianst a covenent figate you should give the UNSC the orbital Battle station cuz that is what defended reach in the book. it woud be alot more equal

You know you are running a hard course when your ears pop during the meet.-me

Yes the SW BF2 space battles were AMAZING and they were terrible as far as being fleshed out or on par with the other levels. Of course thats because 3/4 of the map was outer space.

With Halo universe and bungie designers this would be FTW.

I don't know of any instances where Spartans piloted large UNSC space vessels.

  • 08.05.2009 6:46 PM PDT

That's assuming the only playable characters are Spartans. Even if it were Spartans piloting the ships, I wouldn't mind the minor discrepancies for a fun game mode.
