So, we all know that Bungie has been working on Reach for about 2 years. But how is this possible?

The battle of Reach was not even a day. So how will the campaign be long as hell?

I am starting to feel like there will be multiple campaign missions. Like in Halo 2 where you play as MC and the Arbiter.

Possibly space battles, marines/ODST's you know?

Thoughts?

well we are not really sure if this will be about the battle of reach or what but it will hopefully be as long as halo 2 was, I hope we switch from humans to elites like in halo 2 also.

Have you read MLG Cheehwawa's script? They could do something like that. OR, there could be more to the game than just the Battle of Reach.

How would mutliple campaign missions be a bad thing? I find the variety of different levels in Halo 2 more enjoyable, as opposed to much of the recycled levels in Halo CE.

I have confidence Bungie will work hard on the campaign in Halo Reach.

If it covers all the events from the book, The Fall of Reach, and the first portion of First Strike, then the game should be more than 15 hours long.

Well, if the battle on Reach took 24 hours (no idea how long it actually took) they could possibly make the game last 24 hours.

Maybe 12 so it doesn't feel extremely stretched out and thin. But who knows really.

I think its safe to say we won't switch from humans to Elites. I would of enjoyed getting to see the Covenant side of Halo 3 a little more. I mean, half Jaw and the Arbiter were pretty much only in Halo 3, to be consistent with Halo 2. They didn't have a big presence at all. The Arbiter killing truth, was pretty much just a freebie. I mean, half jaw had three scenes in the game. Two of which he only had one line.

Its unfortunete, because the Elites in Halo 2 had a compelling story. That being said, in Halo:Reach, at the battle of Reach, the Elites hadn't been tossed aside like a dirty towel by the prophets yet. Elites fight humans at Reach. So it wouldn't work. I wouldn't mind however, having cameos from the Arbiter, half jaw, along side others that you might expect. Like Johnson, Keyes, Masterchief, Cortana, Buck, etc.

This. Half Jaw was so cool in H2, though we can't have elites killing humans now can we :(

I'm hoping Reach is a bit of an improvement on H3's campaign, I remember CoD4's campaign slaughtered it. Good thing the multiplayer rocks :D

The battle of Reach only lasted a few hours, but the Covenant remained on the surface for at least a week hunting down Forerunner artifacts. There's plenty of room for new story there.

Wasn't it only 4 hours? Referring to the Battle of Reach.
I just openned my copy of TFoR and the Covenant arrive at 0447 hours (4:47am) and the orbital generators fall around 0720 hours (7:20 am), so around 3-4 hours for the battle... Red Team only landed about 45 mins before the end of the battle, though.

Personally i think they have come up with a good system in odst with the Flash back thing as it means rather then play as just one spartan for 3 hrs you can rlive the others missions making the game last several hrs

I'd really love it if Reach let us play other moments in the Spartan's history, like the Battle of Sigma Octanus IV. Letting us sneak through a jungle and detonating a nuke would be awesome!

It'd also be a good way to explain to new players why the Pillar of Autumn jumped to Halo: the crystal at Côte d'Azur

One mission doesnt have to be an entire day in the storyline it will probably be about different parts of the battle that went on that day.

Also remember bungie owns the storyline they can change or add anything they want they are the creators after all.

The game could be nonstop gameplay with no pauses and transitions between the missions, you could literally be in the game during the entire fight. Multiple perspectives could also add to the length.

they might be making the game's story line like the one in the book halo reach might be about you playing as MC from when hes 6 to the beginning of halo CE or play as any other spartan in campaign for that matter if thats the case making it like the book then it makes sense that it's a long game.... i also here there isn't gonna be much multiplayer in halo reach
