Why are you reading my signature? Who actually opens these things and reads them!

We know they turn on randomly but did they ever confirm that they stay on for the rest of the game once they're on?

I'd rather have it so they turn off and on randomly because skulls like Black eye might be a little too hard to last a long time with.

Imagine if one of the first skulls that turn on is Black eye? How would you survive? Your lives would be gone in a round.

I think they reset each wave/round or so (not sure which). I'm pretty sure they don't stay on. I'll go watch a Firefight video and tell you.

I just saw some videos, it seems that they reset every set.

i dont think all the skulls are the same from halo 3. bungie wouldnt be so cruel as to put in the black eye skull

You get more lives every set.

A set is 5 rounds.

Every round the skulls change.

Before the game starts, if you collected the skull in Campaign (Probably, but uncomfirmed yet) you can activate(Comfirmed;) Grunt Birthday Part, Blind, IWHBYD or Cowbell.

1 skull, tough luck always first, then random
round 2
2 skulls, but it will be random
round 3
3 skulls, random
round 4
4 skulls, random
repeat until all skulls are on

but i'm not 100% certain

Considering there are 99 (Confirmed) rounds?
Gotta say, having ALL skulls on from only round 7 and onwards?
Damn, that'd be scary.

Especially on Legendary.
Especially if Tilt is a Skull.

Here's the News Post with the first introduction to Firefight and the skulls that play into this gametype.

Based off of this picture, new skull effects are added after completing 5 waves to 1 round. At the start, Tough Luck is always on, so this is Set 1, Round 1, Wave 1. Once you get to Set 1, Round 2, Wave 1 Catch will be active with Tough Luck and by " ...Round 3... " the previous two skulls and Black Eye will all be active.

The top skull is Iron, but I'm not sure how this will play into the game, or will just be active throughout the whole game. Edit:The bottom three are Tilt, Famine, and Mythic.

We'll just have to wait to see how the full effect of Firefight skulls play through!

those are tilt, famine, and mythic

blind, cowbell, IWHBYD, and grunt b-day are optional

Thanks for that, I guess that makes more sense and I probably missed that in the article. I edited my post for the bottom skulls!

if bungie was smart they'd let the players decide what order they want the skulls to activate, and have the option to have them activate randomly.

I wish they'd remove the black eye skull and replace it with a skull that makes your stamina regeneration rate slow down. I also wish they would replace the tilt skull with something that powers down players melee attack.
