Here, I decided to post this here as well as on the HBO forums.

------

OK, I think that it's unanimous that the Halo novels are -blam! awesome, so I was thinking of what Bungie might be thinking for their possible Halo 2 tie-ins.

Another novel is a must, as the last novel was very open-ended. Here are some more ideas of ways Bungie might expand the Halo universe (without resorting to making a movie).

Halo: The Graphic Novels

Possible publishers:
Dark Horse, Image (iffy), and Marvel. Personally I think DH would have the best possibility of publishing Bungie-sanctioned graphic-novels.

These could perhaps be tie-ins to the campaign of Halo 2, following the story path of a squad of ODSTs or Marines. Or even stories of the Chief leading up to the beginning of Halo 2. Heck, they could have it take place AFTER Halo 2 for all we know.

How awesome would this be? The only comics I really ever got into were Star Wars comics, and only after they were released in Trade-Paperbacks. But what if Halo GNs were released as TPBs? At $12.95-$14.95, those things would sell up the wazoo!

Not the mention the pure awesomeness of being able to see pictures of what certain things look like. Just think, we might be able to finally know what a Seraph fighter looks like!

An extra plus would be if the cover art was done my Mrs. McLees herself. Wouldn't that be t3h pwn4g3?

What do you guys think?

BTW: The "-blam!" is actually the word I used. So I'm really not using some obscene word and letting the filter get it. Besides, "-blam!" is such a cool word... =)

Heh, I just thought of what we might see (if these GNs were a reality) in terms of "gore and violence". My guess is that it would be toned down, but I still think the comics might end up on par with comics in the "mature readers" section. I mean, the novels depicted quite a few grusome killings, but in comics pictures are the main form of information, so things like blood and gore could be a problem unless they tone it down a notch.
