There has been alot of speculation about Halo, and ODST in general. Personally i feel that Halo 3 was rated M for the Flood, nothing else. I had a short forum topic about this, and someone brought up "ODST is rated M and there's no flood in that." How do we know this? It says in the discription that the Covenant is looking for something hidden in New Mombasa, so what if there are the flood? What if there is another hidden forrunner relic on earth? Unleash your thoughts.

I think they upped the language a bit, or they might have kept it at M due to firefight having like a billion covenant. Anyway, I don't think there will be flood because It is rated M for Blood Violence and Language.

No flood, why do you think it was such a big deal when they appeared on Earth in Halo 3. Halo was rated M for many reasons and just because the flood aren't in ODST doesn't mean they couldn't have made up for it with other mature themes.

Not enough enough evidence to give me the slightest hunch that there will be flood.

Plus I dont have a source but if someone could provide one for me I'd appreciate it. Hasn't Bungie flat out said there will NOT be flood.

I mean just one little infection form takes out marines in Halo 3, and in The Flood almost takes out MC. So I'd assume that ODSTs would drop fairly quickly.

what the covie is looking for might be the same thing they find in halo 3, just they dont know where it is yet. also, it could be some oni technology or something

I started a thread last week about an accidental hint that Sketch dropped on a podcast late last year reffering to how the Gravemind would make a cool boss (I have the direct quote in my original thread), and there was a lot of discussion regarding how Bungie has stayed strangely quiet on the subject of the Flood. I think they have a big surprise in store for the final campaign mission, but the other possibility that occured to me is that the Flood could make a big impact in Firefight.

I agree. Bungie DID say that there would be no Flood in this game, but Bungie could always screw up and think, "Oh! Lets put in a Flood Firefight map! They'd love that!"

Your wasting you're time you could be doing something else besides reading my signature...

This is why it's rated M, the flood have nothing to do with it really...

Halo 3: ODST

Platform: Xbox 360

Rating: Mature

Content descriptors: Blood, Language, Violence

Rating summary: This is a first-person shooter in which players engage in futuristic battles against invading aliens. Players use pistols, sniper rifles, machine guns, and rocket launchers to shoot and kill enemies during the constant and fast-paced battle. Firefights are highlighted by camera effects (e.g., blurring and screen shakes) and realistic sound effects, including screams of pain, gunfire, and explosions. Puffs of blood are emitted from injured aliens/humans, and blood is sometimes smeared on walls and on the ground. Some profanity (e.g., "bull-blam!-," "a*shole," and "bastard") can be heard in the dialogue and radio chatter.

Halo:CE was rated M specifically for the Flood, look it up.

Halo 2 and 3 for the same reason, it fits under the gore category. You can't see the gore in Halo Wars.

Fair enough. But tell me, what is it? The flood themselves or the gore associated with their presence?

The gore associated with their presence.

They DO kinda fall apart when you slam the butt of your shotgun into them.

With or without the Flood it would still be RATED M

  • 08.05.2009 10:54 PM PDT

Don't want to start a quote pyramid. Seems odd to me, I mean the gore they cause is a sight but when they fall apart the seem more fungus/plant like. Maybe I'm just used to worse.

But anyway point remains. ODST has been rated M without the flood apparently. Or at least the rating summary seems so.

I like brain, so I flirt with a whole bunch of nerds.

Rating is a combination of everything a game has. Blood, language, and Flood are all factors, but realistic Ragdoll effects and animations can severely increase the ESRB rating or even get the game banned. It's no coincidence that the Halo forums are filled with the same brain dead gamers that play Halo. Learn to spell and try to think of other taunts besides BK, Scrub, and /Thread.
