Already answered that. I played both H1 and H2. I just tended to play balanced maps where I could still get kills with my starting weapons. BG/Coag was unbalanced in the first two games, the new maps in Halo 3 retained vehicle combat while not screwing you over if you weren't a lucky vehicle driver/gunner or sniper holder.
That's ridiculous. A big map is designed to played with "big" weapons. i.e. Sniper, Rockets, BR, Carbine, etc.. What makes BG/Coag unbalanced? Vehicles vs. On-foot? Well, of course, since when is that ever balanced..? On any map? My point is.. this go around, we have the laser to add to the mix. People always complain (the ones that dont want BG back) that vehicles/snipers were too powerful. Well ok, but there are plenty of vehicles now.. Imagine BG with mongoose runs, slap a ghost in there.. choppers even. The gameplay would COMPLETELY change with all these new vehicles. And to keep the vehicles in check, you have:
Sticky Grenades (Plasma and Spike)
Trip-Mines
Power Drains
Spartan Laser
Sniper Rifles
Rocket Launchers
Mongoose vehicles that are much faster than running on foot like you used to have to do in objective games on BG/Coag.
And more cover could be added to the middle of the map to provide more protection against vehicles.
As for the sniper being too powerful.. Ridiculous. Have 1 sniper spawn on either side, MAYBE one extra clip. BR starts.. Laser in the middle.. And vehicles are always there to help out with snipers. Also, Rockets in the tunnels perhaps? We also have equipment this go around.. Regen's and bubble shields (maybe deployable cover) would help a lot with sniper cover as well.
If this doesnt sound like a balanced game, then I dont know what does.
