Still using a pump-action shotgun over 500 years in the future I see.

omg not realistic stop game production plz

Would you like a sequel to Halo 3:ODST? Except it wouldn't really be a sequel, more like a spiritual successor. I've written a shortish plot to give you all a feel of what I would like an ODST successor game to be like.

The date is June, 2553. The space around Earth and the surviving human colonies is now silent of the sound of war, at last. But there are parts of the galaxy still not at rest.

You are an ODST: The Rookie **. As part of the elite Orbital Drop Shock Troopers, you've had your fair share of thrills and combat. You've been an ODST for a decent amount of time now, and you're highly respected among your ODST team-mates, as well as your new team-mates.

You're now stationed on the UNSC Thermopylae . The war might seem like its over, but there's still a problem. The Brutes don't surrender easily, ever. And they're proving it. They've pulled all their soldiers, ships and defenses back to their homeworld, Doisac - forming a planetary fortress clustered with space and ground defenses. The Elites have been lashing into it but there's been trouble getting through. The UNSC promised to give a little aid to the Sangheili Fleet. Guess which soldiers they sent.

So now it's your job to help the Elites do this. This is it. The end of the war. It's in your hands, and you could truly make a difference if you drop by in the right place. As your old friend said.... you know the music - time to dance.

"Is God willing to prevent evil, but not able? Then he is not omnipotent. Is he able, but not willing?
Then he is malevolent. Is he both able and willing? Then whence cometh evil?Is he neither able nor willing?
Then why call him God?"

The game hasn't even came out yet and you want a sequel!!

Why are you so butthurt over that? From what I've seen of the game, it's really good. I think a sequel based at the conclusion of the war from an ODST's perspective would make for a great game too.

A very nice idea, I have always had my hopes set on the thought they will make a Post-Halo 3 game, but not one featuring the Master Chief.

Mhm. I know, it must be devastating for the Bungie team. All sat there at their tables now, crying in the horror that somebody has thought and posted an idea for an ODST spiritual successor....they can never forgive me, ever.

Well, Bungie finished ODST already, and they've been working on Reach for two years, so why not.

Well I liked this idea, yeh its probably too soon to think about a sequel for bungie but I don't see why we, the fans, can't think of different settings/plots for other ODST games.

I wouldn't want it to be another clue finding/solve the mystery plot though I'd want them to come up with an equally original way to combine halo with freeroaming elements. No idea what this would be though.

I just read in another thread about a bungie member in an interview kinda 'hinting' about another game they're working on aswell as Reach

Wolver you understand my problem with Fanatic fictions, well part of it, you know I don't acknowledge them, but I get miffed should someone suggest to a largish company that they have a good written plot to be seen. when the company has professional writers (ooh doesn't that sound intimidating).

  • 08.06.2009 3:00 PM PDT

He wasnt suggesting he was a good writer Buggy he was just stating his own idea that they may make a follow-up and what the story line may be.

Indeed, well, stop bashing them all the time. We do know Bungie likely don't care about them, in all honesty I consider writing fan fiction as practice for writing a real novel.

They've confirmed there working on a brand new, non-halo related IP.

I think I might take this to the Gallery Forum. The community there is very kind and respectful to each others work and are constructive. This forum seems to have a lot of furious flamers, bashing away at their keyboards for my blasphemy....

He's giving a possible plot if Bungie were to make said sequel, he's not telling them to do it, he's just giving an example of a possible plot, and a good one at that.
