Here’s what Luke had to say about the differences in treatment between the Spartans and Elites in Reach:

“Instead of piece-by-piece customization like the Spartans, Elite customization is a full model swap with models selected from the various Elite classes appearing throughout the Campaign. There are all kinds of reasons for this, not the least of which is our continued emphasis on the Spartan as your identity in Reach.”

Which stats do you want tracked, first for the Post Game Carnage report, and secondly for the Halo Reach Service Record here on Bungie.net?

Carnage Report:
Betrayals (regardless of gametype)
Shots fired
Accuracy
Shots hit
Vehicles Destroyed

Bungie.net:
(also available by map)
(also available by gametype)
(also available by Playlist)
Total Shots fired
Total shots hit
Shots fired by weapon
Hits by weapon
Goobot 1
-Steps Taken

Now, what I want for stat tracking is to change the way that beatdowns appear in the carnage report.
As it is now, if you beatdown someone, regardless of the weapon, it all gets lumped together as a "beatdown".
Although I am an avid user of both the Spikers and the Plasma Rifle, compared to my AR and BR, it looks like I hardly use either, when in reality I use them a ton, but most the kills go towards beatdowns.
If I kill someone with a beatdown with say, a spiker, that should count as a spiker kill for stat tracking. However, if I highlight the spiker, it can show me in pie chart format how many spiker kills came from weapon fire and how many kills came from beatdowns. For weapons that you can't melee with like plasma grenades, it could show you what percent came from splash and what percent were sticks."

Weapons that can melee, and kill with AOE, there would be an entry for all 4.
example: Rocket Launcher. 200 Kills. 25 Direct, 125 AOE, 25 melee, 25 (?)

Trickmywarthog:
-Longest Ragdoll Flight/Time

Weapon sprees for every weapon

Post your suggestions!

Interesting.

Out of curiosity, why would that be useful?

I can see how having a high value in an objective game would show that you were active, maybe showing flag attempts, but other than that, what could it be used for?

"I am the Walrus." (:3=)

Just for the hell of it, Longest Ragdoll Flight. lol

Spot people who hide a lot, since they play a ton of games but don't move very often.

Be able to spot the more passive players who stand back and snipe with a Sniper or BR compared to the dynamic players that are a constant whirlwind of attacks with swords and ARs.

Figure out how many steps it takes for me to get a kill on adverage :)

Hell, it could be fun. Maybe on Bungie.net though, not very useful in a carnage report :)

Now, what I would really, really, want for stat tracking is to change the way that beatdowns appear in the carnage report.

I can understand that. Ok, definitely.

But Steps Taken won't go into the Carnage report, just in the Aggregate stats on Bungie for those who want more depth.

I agree about the melee portion, and the grenade portion is genius. We should also have it so that for a weapon that you can get melees with, kill with a direct hit or AOE, (Brute Shot/Rocket) it should list that too, in addition to every weapons (?) category (hammer blast knocks car off level)

Just for the hell of it, Longest Ragdoll Flight. lol
That would be good for social, maybe add a secret achievement for it. People getting run over a lot would appreciate this.

javelin

It would be really interesting to know all the stats for everything you do. I think it would be cool to know how many steps you have taken and how many kilometers you have driven.

Thing is that its hard to define what constitutes "a t-bag".

I mean, sure, its crouching up and down over the body of an enemy, but where does one t-bag start and where does one end? Bungie isn't powerful enough to decide these type of things.

A T Bag could be crouching 3 times within 4 seconds without moving.....

Edit: Damn. I guess Stats will have to wait until closer to the release date......
