Subject: "Spartan Time" In Reach

For those who have already read the Halo Novels, you will know what I am talking about (hopefully). For those who have not, I will give a short description of "Spartan Time". Basically, because Spartans are super-soldiers, they have an enhanced perception of the world around them. When they are in an extremely stressful situation, they go into "Spartan Time", which is described as time slowing down, and the Spartan speeding up. In the hopes that Reach is more like the books (i.e. Spartans running faster, actual fighting, plasma more powerful), "Spartan Time" may or may not be a good idea. Here are a few theories as to how it may be implemented without Reach losing its Halo feel.
1. A specific button could "activate" Spartan time, such as Slow-Mo in F.E.A.R.
2. Scripted events where Spartan time automatically kicks in, which is used to finish the event
3. Have the Spartan always be faster, example: In Halo 3, they have set variables of speed, such as 100%(normal) or 300%(super fast). In Reach, they could have speed always be 150%
4. Have certain events in game, unscripted, where Spartan Time is used to make a fight/chase easier, but still be awesome.
More ideas to follow. Obviously this would have to extend to Multiplayer in some way, probably be tweaked a little bit.
Please, let us be civil about this. Rather than just saying no, say why you think it would be a bad idea.

Here’s what Luke had to say about the differences in treatment between the Spartans and Elites in Reach:

“Instead of piece-by-piece customization like the Spartans, Elite customization is a full model swap with models selected from the various Elite classes appearing throughout the Campaign. There are all kinds of reasons for this, not the least of which is our continued emphasis on the Spartan as your identity in Reach.”

Would this be only for campaign?

I don't see how it could work in matchmaking without being extremely annoying.

If in campaign only, then yes, it would be awesome. If Bungie also decide to make an Elite playable, it would greatly distinguish the two POVs. Spartans could slow down time (For want of a better word), and Elites could use Active Camouflage.

I like the idea...it could be the something extra that would add to the game without ruining the halo feel. Maybe it could be brought in automatically in stressful situations in the game like when the Spartan's shields are fuylly drained and are close death...

Ugh...

First on a BWU.. yeah, I'm cool.

ODST;MYTHIC Screenshot winner! One of the first to get their hands on the mythic map pack.

Campaign, sure. Multi-player, HELL NO!

You do realise that you can't go further than the 60th minute in an hour right?

Yeah ok, maybe not in Canada...

If something like this were brought into the game it would HAVE to be just for Campaign. When it comes to Matchmaking, you can't have one dude running around in slo-mo and the other in regular speed and keep the game synced up and have it without lag. Impossible. And even with Campaign while playing Co-op, if one player uses it, the other players are effected by it too. This idea has some backstory and is not completely improbable but most likely will not be an addition to the game.
