For those who have already read the Halo Novels, you will know what I am talking about (hopefully). For those who have not, I will give a short description of "Spartan Time". Basically, because Spartans are super-soldiers, they have an enhanced perception of the world around them. When they are in an extremely stressful situation, they go into "Spartan Time", which is described as time slowing down, and the Spartan speeding up. In the hopes that Reach is more like the books (i.e. Spartans running faster, actual fighting, plasma more powerful), "Spartan Time" may or may not be a good idea. Here are a few theories as to how it may be implemented without Reach losing its Halo feel.
1. A specific button could "activate" Spartan time, such as Slow-Mo in F.E.A.R.
2. Scripted events where Spartan time automatically kicks in, which is used to finish the event
3. Have the Spartan always be faster, example: In Halo 3, they have set variables of speed, such as 100%(normal) or 300%(super fast). In Reach, they could have speed always be 150%
4. Have certain events in game, unscripted, where Spartan Time is used to make a fight/chase easier, but still be awesome.
More ideas to follow. Obviously this would have to extend to Multiplayer in some way, probably be tweaked a little bit.
Please, let us be civil about this. Rather than just saying no, say why you think it would be a bad idea.
