Cool, I'm reading the article right now. And that is weird...how they didn't mention the Webmaster.

Ach! Was ist los?

They mentioned the Letters to the Webmaster section, but managed to completely avoid the beast himself.

Shame!

*bookmarked*

ill read that in the morning, looks interesting.

  • 06.11.2005 4:32 PM PDT

I hate everything, but it's not my fault.

Very interesting, but whoever wrote that had no idea of Bungie's history. Just look at these two quotes: "Bungie.net has been around since 1996, and in that time it has continued to serve its community role, and even served as the gameplay destination for Bungie RPG Myth's dedicated online players." What!? I could inderstand them calling Myth an RTS, but an RPG? "Bungie's future successes became apparent with "Pathways into Darkness" and "Marathon," which were constructed for the Macintosh platform and later ported to the PC platform as "Marathon 2" in 1995." Does anyone else think that makes it sound like M2 was just M1 for Windows?

Overall very interesting though.

Microsoft shouldn't write articles if they don't have their facts right. In addition to Ghandi's post about them thinking that Myth was a 1996 RPG, they also claim that Bungie was started in a garage to make ODS.

Hey recon did you know that the file name for your avatar picture is mispelled? Right-click on your avatar and click save picture as. You'll see that the file name for your avatar is modertaor_Recon54.gif. I think you should demand that it be spelled right. If you check the file name for sigma it is spelled right, how unfair.

Uh step 6, that would be the one involving slingshots wouldn't it or am I way off?

Hehe
spelled right, how unfar.

Anywho, interesting read. Not that i've read all of it yet. Perhaps the web master paid them to not mention him so that he can remain illusive.

Nope, more of a mysterious man in a gorilla suit wearing a yellow foam cowboy hat. I bet he's drunk right now. That's probably why he hasn't been answering any letters recently. Is it time to have an intervention with the webmaster? You know, go to his house, force him to stop drinking alchohol (HA!).

Actually, it's a very good thing the Webmaster wasn't mentioned. If MS found out he was slowly destroying their moneymakers internet home, someone wouldn't be answering emails anymore.

True. and we wouldn't want MS to find out that they don't rule the wrold.

I heard your mum was a little higher up on that list. I guess my mom will have to wait patiently for her turn.

If anyone would be banned, it would probably be you. Let's consider a couple of things. You are insulting someone in The Septagon about something incredibly small and you are using certain kinds of references to do so which are not allowed. You are also modifying his quote to fit your own needs and insult him greatly.

Now about the webmaster, did he pay them in donuts first? If not, I can definitely see why he wasn't mentioned.

Edit: The guy I was referring to disappeared from above me. I'm not talking to myself! I'm stable! Leave me alone!!

I guess the folks at MS never saw him and think that he's just some urban myth.

You mean to imply he isn't? I could've sworn I saw a snopes.com article debunking the "Bungie Webmaster" rumor :)

I tried doing a search on their page for the article, but their close-enough search engine instead hit me with a half-dozen articles on "binge." Hm. Perhaps there's a hidden message there...
