There is no greater catharsis than arguing on the Flood.

Well, I've seen a lot of complaining from one side of the argument, let the rest of us explain why we think this game is fairly priced.

Here's how I'd accumulate the game based on player satisfaction:
Campaign - $25
FireFight - $15
New Maps - $10
Repackaged content you may or may not have, at a great deal since MMP 1 is still full price - $10
Reach Demo - Free Bonus

Here's how I'd see it from a developers stand point:
Cost of manufacturing + Reasonable Profit

Also, I'd like to hear individuals' reasons why they are very excited for this game more than others, to further add to their satisfaction value without highering the price. For instance, I love the non-linear campaign for once, I just want to go around the city killing things.

The fight has been complete.... now get the cookies!

While we certainly share your enthusiasm for the return, we here at the Bungie.net community are mostly made up of snarky asses and jerks who will ridicule you for making a thread about something revealed months ago. We regret that your innocent intentions will almost certainly be replied with anger and sarcasm, and politely invite you to don your Flame-suit, because you just did the internet equivalent of jumping up the Construct lifts.

It shouldn't matter to you because if it does then you will miss out on all the FUN that everyone else is having.

I love campaign, and a new campaign and firefight are worth 60$ to me. I don't have the MMP, so I'm getting 20$ worth of maps with ODST. Campaign 20$, Firefight 20$, and 6 new maps 20$

I don't understand. If this is directed at me, well, I'm going to have fun, which is why I made this thread.

It just is...

This game has twice as much content as x-men origins wolverine, and i spent $60 bucks on x-men.

People really need to grow up, instead of complaining about the price that will not change, they could just not buy the game. I don't care if you don't like the price, just don't tell me about it.

I am excited for this game because of the new campaign and firefight. We will be returning to urban new mombasa which is by far my favorite halo setting. Playing as an odst adds a whole new atmosphere, and new changes we will need to adapt to. Getting help from the SI and visr also add new mechanics I cant wait to experience. We will be playing as the rookie in the night time city which is also very cool. For me campaign is where its at, and to have the new firefight mode will keep odsts replayability very high.

I don't have the Legendary or Mythic Mappack. SO this is probably the best deal of my life. Haha.

Beat me to it.

Campaign and Firefight alone are worth the $60.
The fact that we get 3 New Mythic Maps, MatchMaking, and the Reach Beta are just the icing on the scrumptious cake that is Halo 3: ODST.

Well from a standpoint, Halo 3 ODST is technically only worth $30, but since they threw in all of the other downloadable maps that adds another $30 on to the price tag.

  • 08.08.2009 6:54 PM PDT

because it haz 2 disks, one that made halo 3 worth so much, and then the campaign which is free roam, so it's better than halo 3 campaign so it already has outmached it, and it includes a new gametype that will be wicked, and it includes an extra's menu. so i'd say... wait, let me catch my self there, or i'll be hated on for a few years at least

The campaign is worth $60 alone. There are plenty of campaign only games that sell well at that price. Firefight is worth at least $20. The Mythic maps cost $10. For anyone who doesn't have Halo 3 or the old maps ODST comes with that. All around it is a good deal. Free access to the Reach Beta. It also plays more like Halo CE worth another $60 right there, not really but thats great.

It's not. It IS, however, worth a mere £30.

:)

In peace sons bury their fathers, in war fathers bury their sons.

Just the pistol. It's epicness is well worth $60.

  • 08.08.2009 7:10 PM PDT

I wish I was still legendary.

$25 worth of DLC bundled with it, along with $30 original maps + mm.
$10-15 campaign
$10 firefight

pretty much a bargain like that.

  • 08.08.2009 7:11 PM PDT

dont for get $10 for vidmasters to get recon so that makes 60 bucks lol

  • 08.08.2009 7:13 PM PDT

its two discs in a plastic case with a cover and booklet. that cost some moneyz to make and import from china. on the two discs you have a very enjoyable campaign plus a new firefight mode that has tons of replayability and the complete halo 3 multiplayer experiance plus 3 new maps. its worth 60$ as a whole package
