Thanks. I put a bit of thought into it and tried to include a lot of people's views from what I've seen from other threads :D But a lot of my ideas are (hopefully) on an original premise.

I think there should be option on start of campaing and that option is that you could pick a charater and there could be some different missions for every charater and also there would be a big battle where are the most of the spartans, also that big battle would be on every charater.

Game coded so that you can only be Spartans wearing Mk V or IV or VI whichever they choose to incorporate.


I don't think there should be Team Flag and Team Assault as two separate playlists. And instead of the game coding everyone to be a spartan wearing MK V or IV or VI armor, I'd rather that Bungie changes the Spartan and Elite players hit boxes to be the exact same, and then codes the game to make team games Spartans VS Elites.

I like the intensity idea,when a rocket or a tank explodes I want to see pieces of tanks flying,dust,flams,fog and some epic explosions and also a bit of interaction in the visor(blood,dust,ice...).

Instead of being specified characters in Firefight you have your player models from Multi-Player.

Service Tag: This time also shows on your shoulder.
Emblem: You can choose where your emblem is placed. Preferably Left or Right shoulder and the chest.

Gameplay Features
An immersive melee system that does something a little different a lot of the time. Like smacking an Elite in the face with a punch that looks like it really impacted on it. Or uppercutting it or something like that. Something to make you feel like "Mhmhm I just whipped yo ass"
More Control Systems. For example take the base on Zanzibar/Last Resort. It had that cool opening gate. The only thing that peeved me off... Was that you couldn't close it. So say your on a map that's meant to be fairly wide open and there's this chasm. You gap it and try and make your way across the chasm through a bridge. You're just about there when somebody deactivates the bridge and sends you tumbling down to your death. Just something that mix's gameplay up a bit.
Your armour becoming battered and broken as you traverse through war torn plains. Imagine being cut with a plasma sword and being seen with your biofome leaking forth from a gaping wound.

The subject of blood and gore
I have seen this topic flamed a lot in the past. But I came up with a fairly good solution. Now in Reach I do NOT want to see limbs flying everywhere. But what I do want to see is some gore that is honorable enough to achieve Halo's M rating (Or R16 over here in NZ)

Does anyone remember the scene from Combat Evolved where the Elite had it's chest opened up. That's along the lines of where I want to see the gore. So when I blast someone in the chest with a Shot Gun you can see some but not all of their innards.

Another thing. When I melee enemies. I don't want them to just roar or cry in pane. I want to hear their bones shatter a crunch after a swift blow to the ribs. When I get shot in my visor I want my visor to crack and shatter and either leak blood or ooze out with biofoam.

I want it to be gory... But not too gory.

I love your ideas but this is what I want to see the most

Even though i personally think the Br should stay the same, a Br with a smaller clip that shot with a bit more recoil would be much more realistic with the Br haters. I missed if you put Big Team Battle and Squad Battle into the playlists, sorry if you did. Although i loved the Halo: CE Sniper Rifle, when i went back and played it I realized that it was way too OP. Halo 3's sniper with night vision would be cool.

And I do like the idea of classes ONLY for firefight. Like you could choose if you were to be a medic and have the ability to carry extra health packs but have 75% run speed or be a Sniper Class and have 110% speed and start with the sniper but have slower shield recharge rate.

This would be an option in Firefight that you would be able to turn on and off.

Your non-linear campaign idea sounds like it could go either way to me, I don't know. It could be awesome if Bungie pulled it off, but their style has always been more linear so that they can keep the story fast-paced. Maybe they could just create huge open areas for combat within the linear missions, they've come close to this in the previous games, but a larger scale would be cool.

Regardless of either way it goes, here are some things I'd like to see in the campaign:

1-Have some sort of Space battle (not necessarily in a vehicle). For instance, you could be repelling covenant borders on the hull of your ship while dodging plasma bursts and strafing runs from enemy ships, and eventually once you've repelled the borders, leap through space onto a covenant ship and hijack it. This would be fun, no?

2-Epic sized campaign battles. I'm talking 5 scarabs with hundreds of covenant vehicles cruising around beneath them with thousands of (or at least several hundred) foot soldiers marching on a human city where hundreds and hundreds of marines are held up in destroyed buildings with hundreds of vehicles in entrenched positions and a bloody, helltorn, no man's land inbetween it all. And, overhead, hornets banshees, pelicans, phantoms, and what have you are having it out, leading to a constant shower of flaming debris raining down from the sky above.

3-It would be cool to see the engineers in game finally.

4-On or underwater battle

5-Different Hunter forms in campaign because they're just a bunch of worms that attach together, so why not make something epic and scary to fight out of them?

I know this is asking for a lot, and these are just some personal wishes of mine, so it's no biggy if they never happen, but I still think it'd be cool.


I would LOVE to see numbers 1 and 2.
massive campaign battles would be awesome, and they could even, somehow implement these massive battles into matchmaking whether it be bots or lots of people.
Space battles?
Yes!
I would love to see a campaign where you are really in the midst of the war, massive fights, high jacking in space?
doing the simple yet significant stuff, is what i would like to see for at least half the game; where they could than end on something more epic and meaningful.

Pretty much this thread, with the combined ideas of thatlolguy, my ideas, and most, but not all, of everyone elses' ideas on here, are really what I want to see in Reach. There are only a select few things that I'd like to see that aren't mentioned here.

A built in movie editor would be nice, maybe not an over the top one, but at least the ability to string together video clips and add commentary or music. Maybe play some clips in reverse or slow-mo, change lighting, just some simple stuff like that :-)

pleas read entire post before commenting

here are 5 good reasons why it would work and preserve halos game play

"the RFG aim system. you get a slight optical zoom, the reticule gets smaller, weapons become more accurate"

1-Burst fire with the AR is already accurate, an aim mechanic would make the AR a easier to use at longer ranges. matter in fact since Halo CE Bungie emphasized using short controlled burst with auto weapons to engage targets a t longer ranges. you can kill some one all the way across foundry, and hit every time so it would not Unbalance the weapon.

2- it's not iron sights; Spartans, and apparently ODSTs have a targeting computer built in to there helmets, which i would assume would work better than iron sights.

3- I makes sense; the AR fires a 7.62x51mm round which would work at 500m, so the option to engage targets at longer ranges, so we would have an assault rifle that acts like one

4-the Aim mechanic would not over-complicate game play or even be out of the way to make. why not instead of getting Binoculars we get an aim, with weapons where it is practical like the Magnum, SMG, and AR.

5- i would not completely change halos game-play, it would actually smooth it out a little. so up close you could have a high sensitivity, and at medium to long ranges you could Aim and reduce you sensitivity so short controlled burst would be come more practical.
