Subject: Question about VISR.

I wish I was still legendary.

As far as I'm aware, this hasn't been asked or answered before:

will use of the VISR database/map in campaign pause the game? or, for example, would opening it up in a fight be one of the stupidest things you could do? I hope it's the first, personally - it wouldn't be fun going into your map, finding out some brutes were a block away (enemies show up, I think), and looking around for the nearest beacon to suddenly find yourself dead, and realising the brutes had walked right up to you while you were looking at your map.

NOT the VISR as in 'Z0mg red linez'. The VISR DATABASE, which is pressing the back button to view your map.

Hush. If you’re quiet enough, you can hear it on lips of unborn babes.

No. In fact, you will probably have it on most of the game to see enemies/clues in the dark.

I meant the VISR database, as the control scheme calls it - that is, the map of Mombasa.

That's a good question.

I couldn't see it pausing the game, as that would stop everyone of your friends in a co-op campaign.
Unless it paused and brought up the map for everyone, that would just piss me off if someone kept doing that as a "joke."

I'm pretty sure that it can be used in both Single Player and Coop. It should only pop up for you, I believe.

Also, I would imagine that it should not pause the game. You should be more aware of when you use it. I would expect that if you find yourself in a quiet moment, there should be no spawning Covenant, or the Covenant shouldn't find you. If that sort of thing did happen, I'd get annoyed too.

We'll just have to wait and see.

I figure it will pause the game, however why would one need to pull it up in a firefight?

He's talking about the map the super gives you when you answer the phone. I think that it will pause in single player but in co-op it most likely wont pause the game.

it won't pause the game, bungie announced that sum where. vut in the videos, when sum1 pulls up the map, u can see there grenade count, health, ammo, and the rest of there hud. i'm guessing bungie made it realistic, the map is just a projection from your hud.

I imagine it would pause the game while you check your next destination.
It would get kind of annoying to be killed while looking at a map.
