"Your momma never loved you, and she dresses you funny!"
I originally posted this on the Bungie Universe forum, before I noticed this Forum. Mods, please feel free to remove the original thread if you feel it is necessary.
After watching Bungie's "Ten Years" video, I decided it was time to dust off my old hobby of video editing. I finished up this montage of the Trilogy in about a week, working with Windows Movie Maker (unfortunatly I couldn't find my old Adobe Premier discs). I've done several montages/music videos in the past, but nothing as long as this one.
You'll notice that I left out Halo Wars as well as ODST and Reach. There are a few reasons for this.
The reason I left out Halo Wars:
It is not a Bungie game, and as much as I love Halo and thank Bungie for bringing it to us, this video is a thank you to them, and it didn't seem right to include a game they didn't make.
The reason for ODST and Reach:
While I'm extremely confident that they will be superb games, and I'm going to get both, they are not out yet, and this video is meant mostly as a thank-you to Bungie for what we have so far.
Yes, I know Requiem for a Dream is used alot, especially for videos like this. I picked it because it was the most appropriate for the video I had in my mind, and because I've never worked with it before.
I left the final cutscene of Halo 3 intact and after the credits because I wanted to have Chief's line of "Wake me, when you need me" to be the end of my video but I couldn't bring myself to cut up what is easily one of the best and most emotional cutscenes in any video game, and so I decided to play it the way Bungie did: after the credits and in its entirety.
All that being said, please enjoy my work, and feel free to leave any comments/suggestions either in this thread or directly on the YouTube page.
