Hide the True Skill number and push it up to 70 or something. It's odd having such a noticeable skill gap all packed in at level 50.

Give the gamers a fun ranking system that takes time or something, but constantly remind them they are put together by the invisible True Skill system, or whatever they want to call their next ranking system for matching players, every time they load into a new map.

Allow the player to see their new rank on the True Skill system only when they level up or down, and then hide it away again. Just so the player knows they've reached a milestone and are competing at a higher level.

Sent the map 11/27. Hope it all goes well.

I would just hide the level entirely. Apparently, there is barely anyone online that can understand that the matchmaking level is there to pair people up, and would rather use it to show it off like a trophy.

Just keep track of it, but don't let players know it about it. That way, they'll always have a good match(most of the time) without having constant questions, like, "Why am I locked?" or, "How many matches do I need to win to level up?".

Keep them ranked, but don't show them. Let tourneys and competitions figure out who the best is.

War, War never changes.

Got my Recon from the Vidmaster achievments, like most.
Reach IS awesome, don't deny it

Take into consideration (in team games) teamates skills and your own performance instead of the teams overall performance.

Consult this thread for my solution.

Here’s what Luke had to say about the differences in treatment between the Spartans and Elites in Reach:

“Instead of piece-by-piece customization like the Spartans, Elite customization is a full model swap with models selected from the various Elite classes appearing throughout the Campaign. There are all kinds of reasons for this, not the least of which is our continued emphasis on the Spartan as your identity in Reach.”

Hide the trueskill ranking

Insert an EXP system from either GOW, COD, or Halo 2 that gives experience based on personal performance.

implement a score system that is divisable by the amount of time you have been playing in game. EG 10 points in 1 hour 10/1= 10
10 points in 2 hours 10/2= 5

The first player has scored higher in less time and so should get a higher rank whilst the second person is of lesser skill and it took them twice as long to accumilate the points and so should be awarded a rank half of the other person has. This method would rank people well from day 1 and people who began using second acounts wouldnt have to go up through every rank to reach the top they would simply jump to a place in the system where they are best suited.

I feel this would be a difficult system to impliment as people's lifetime EXP in thier current state range massively from player to player and bungie would have to do some serious predictions as to what they would expect the number 1 players on the game to be scoring
Of course this system would eliminate the ranks we currently have in game as you have to work through most of them on your way. Instead there would simply be ranks of 1-100 (or somthing similar) and you are awarded a number depending on where you fit within the system.
