Do you think people will be pissed off if Bungie only makes Heretic, Citadel, And Longshore only available through ODST? Like if it doesn't get sent XBL Marketplace.

But that's the problem. With evil marketing schemes constantly made by Microsoft, what's the point of buying Halo games if this keeps happening. I just found out today that it is exclusive to ODST. I'm a Halo fan, but that might of changed since this recent decision.

I don't want to pay $60 for a game where I can complete the story in a couple of hours, and only 1 game mode that will get stale fast to me. (I played Horde mode till round 50 and stopped after that)

Now were going to be seeing the same thing happen after the latest DLC became available. Almost every playlist is going to be required and were going to be seeing a lot of hate threads, because you got to buy an entire new game to keep playing a game you bought 2 years ago.

Now if this was all on the Marketplace, then I wouldn't be complaining. I'd be saving $50 in the process. But I'm not paying $20 a map. But yet again, since we have this overlord over at MS making idiotic decisions, this is going to happen for some.

This makes me wonder if it's even worth to buy Reach since Microsoft will still be controlling the strings. I honestly wouldn't be surprised if they raised the price again since it's MS.

It is only available through ODST ITS THE ONLY WAY.

So it's not even DLC, it's bonus content.

Well really Bungie put the maps on a disk, so people who don't have live can finally get more mpas to play. But I like the fact that, the 3 maps are exclusive to ODST. That means it won't be like Halo wars, and later be released to the MP. Plus with ODST being highly anticipated and Pre-ordered, that means Millions literally Millions of People will have all the maps so basically there shouldn't be no Hate threads, since practically EVERYONE will have every map created.

$9.99

That's pretty good for 2 hours of music without explosions and people yelling. I don't care if you steal it, but God does...

Macrosoft is almost certainly going to release Mythic II on marketplace, eventually. I mean, there are people who will never buy ODST, but they might still buy the maps through DLC. MS is just gonna wait a while, so as many people cave in and buy ODST as possible.

Who is more foolish, the child afraid of the dark or the man afraid of the light?

~Maurice Freehill

It's a hard choice. It would help with Recon achievements in a way, but it would tick some people off. I pre-ordered it and so I'm happy with it, but for those of you who aren't going to get it get I understand if you think that it sucks.

Well children, be prepared to be sad/angryface, because, the last three maps are ONLY available through the purchase of ODST, and ONLY available by playing the Halo 3 Multiplayer disc bundled with ODST.

Halo fan? I don't believe so... You can do a lot of stuff in campaign and go back to have fun...
Horde mode and Firefight aren't the same. In firefight, it's randomized... The skulls change the enemies change... And if you were a halo fan... You would be happy that after many years they gave us a survival mode! I do not feel like responding to your other points... You don't want this game? Don't call yourself a halo fan and get off...

If you don't know who I am, the feeling is mutual.

Bungie's said that they'll release them on Marketplace maybe a month or two after ODST's release.

But seriously, ODST will be awesome. Plus you get three new maps and a Beta key for Reach. That seems like a good deal in my opinion.

Here’s what Luke had to say about the differences in treatment between the Spartans and Elites in Reach:

“Instead of piece-by-piece customization like the Spartans, Elite customization is a full model swap with models selected from the various Elite classes appearing throughout the Campaign. There are all kinds of reasons for this, not the least of which is our continued emphasis on the Spartan as your identity in Reach.”

Then wait for Reach.

What do you mean, "if?" We already know that the maps are only with ODST and never ever on marketplace.

Mythic Map Pack Part 2 is only available with ODST. It's never going to be available on the marketplace.

The only way to get the other mythic maps is to buy ODST (they're not downloaded, they're on the 2nd disc of ODST).

The only way to get them is ODST. He doesn't say get them early, he says that's the only way. Also, here are some third party sources confirming the same thing:

Kotaku (in the green part)
Giant Bomb (scroll down until they talk about multiplayer

My H3 File Share for all your guilty pleasures...
My favorite professional Halo team ever: Final Boss

Bumper Jumper, 3 sensitivity, no vibration (H:CE & H2 are Boxer)
Halo 2 being my favorite Halo game to date
Halo fan since 2003

First of all, It's the decision of Microsoft, not Bungie. Second, if I was the one who could choose releasing it on XBL or just keep it ODST exclusive, I would choose the first one. Why? Because I would earn money AND it would be fair for the people who can't or don't want to buy ODST, but I'm 100% sure that MS will make it ODST exclusive and piss a lot of people off. And why a lot? Because a Midship remake (Heretic) is in the 2nd Mythic map pack (one of the best Halo map ever made), thats why...

Me? I'm getting ODST anyway, so if you are reading this and you can't or just don't want to buy it for some dumb reason, good luck playing matchmaking after 09/22/09, because sooner or later, these maps will require to a lot of playlists in matchmaking. Bungie world domination ftl.

it would make more people buy the game because they want the maps, which is pretty smart. bungie doesn't care about the complaints of one person. or the hundreds who complain in threads.

It's incredibly smart. I'm sure Bungie saw what people would do to get maps early (talking about the people who bought Halo Wars LE for the maps), so they knew people would buy ODST just to get the new maps. And I know many people bought Halo Wars LE for the maps because after I beat the game and got most of the achievements, I played the maps and most people only had a few Halo Wars achievements.
