Oh my god, I don't know if this is trolling, but it made me laugh. Anyways, I'll adress some things in this post:
1: "AAA Engine" simply refers to an engine being used for a AAA title, and is NOT the name of the engine. The name is probably something like... the Reacharound engine. Yeah, that works.
2: I disagree that Reach should go for the same style as Killzone 2, but Bungie should have looked at what Guerrilla did with their engine - their technical stuff is state of the art, with quincunx anti-aliasing to soften edges, which works with a very advanced normalized motion blur technique - their art assets are built around the limitations of both the engine and the host hardware, and it takes a trained eye to see everything that goes on in Killzone 2, such as how anti-aliasing is disabled during vehicle sequences and lightning strikes.
The Halo 3 engine is still actually very advanced. The HDR is still some of the most advanced to this day, and Bungie has been molding the engine around the strengths and weaknesses of the 360 for ODST, and after watching that ViDoc, it shows. However, Halo: Reach needs to remain colorful and full of life and depth, while technologically and artistically surpassing most games out there by using the limitations of the engine and the hardware it runs on.
Apparently its nicknamed the "Reach Around" AAA Engine at the moment.
