I agree, and anyway the halo 3 graphics are still great considering the age now...KZ 2 is new. I mean when you go on theatre and look at the game when its frozen with the bullets flying and explosions all around, i think that really shows how great it stands, even in close ups.

It can have good graphics, but please, no -blam!- loads of brown, gray, black and a drop of green. I want Halo: Reach to look like when you take a step outside. The lighting, the colors, the shapes. Halo 3 pulled that off very well, but Reach will pull it off better. Do want you want with the graphics, but don't make everything exaggeratedly dark!

This AAA engine is not for HALO: REACH.

The AAA engine is currently being developed by Microsoft for the future of HALO games (that microsoft themselves are making)

Whether bungie are developing a new engine or tweaked engine for HALO: REACH has yet to be confirmed

If you re-read the original story you will see that no where does it actually say this AAA engine is for HALO: REACH

Original Story

but it should...
i dont want an improved Halo 3 Engine! Why?
Look at some framerate problems in some multiplayer action..that sucks. Some people with good eyes and so... are agreed with me that Halo 3 uses an improved Halo 2,and this Engine is bad matched to the Xbox 360 Hardware...

Not that i know anything about making computer games, but i assume you need a finished games engine before you can start making a game, we already know that bungie has been working on HALO: REACH for a while, so they can't be using this engine. Even if they could work on a game without the engine, and implement everything later, are you willing to wait, again i know nothing about computer game engine design, but i'm guessing it's not something you can produce in a matter of months, more likely years. Also just say they do work on an item then later find that the engine is able to support it.

Another thing is why would bungie use a engine not of their own design? By using an engine you yourself design you know exactly it's abilities and limitations, thus being able to create a game more efficiently, without the hassle of pondering whether one can do certain features.

As for HALO 3's Engine, we know for a fact that it is not a tweaked HALO 2 engine, however, even entartaining this though, perhaps given the time bungie have had to further tweak it since HALO 3, i would love to see a similar advancement made for HALO: REACH that was made from HALO 2 to HALO 3

At the end of the day though i do hope, as well as everyone else, that a new engine is used (designed by bungie), which will allow them improve on HALO 3 not just graphically but in all areas such as AI, lighting, etc
