Subject: Will ODST's Be Able To Bear The Gravity Hammer?

If I can recall correctly, in Halo 3 you can't give a marine or ODST a gravity hammer for their weapon, which means we won't be able to use it in ODST, am I correct? Will it work like with the Energy Sword in Halo: CE that had a safety mechanism?

They didn't tell us what it was it could have been anything. Frankie gets scared easy incase you didn't know.

Been here 6 years, been blacklisted 6 times, that's why I'm not Mythic.

We know you can pick it up in Firefight at the least. Not sure about campaign, but it seems highly likely.

I swear to DRUNK, I'm not GOD!

I don't think that an ODST, in spite of their battle-hardened combat powers, would be able to use a weapon like a gravity hammer. Maybe one could lift it... but actually using it would probably be next to impossible.

Master Chief is a VERY tall, super-soldier who wears strength-enhancing power armor, and has been doing push-ups since he was 6. And Brutes are 9-foot tall gorilla/bears. THEY can use a Gravity Hammer. But when you're playing Halo 3: ODST, don't expect a 'pick up' prompt to appear when you walk over a gravity hammer.

It doesn't appear to be canon. You can indeed use the hammer, but your character goes flying, it's funny.

You can wield it but like someone stated is that they go flying when they use it, im thinking the gravity hammer will be not seen as often as from halo 3 kinda like the fuel rod cannon

ODST's can rip off turrets and carry them just like spartans (In Firefight) so I would guess a Gravity Hammer would be no problem. I just don't fancy asking a chieftain to hand one over though!!

  • 08.10.2009 10:58 AM PDT

The device has been modified....

*Gravity Hammer drops from Chieftain*

ODST: Right...

*Rolls up selves*
*Picks up Hammer steadily*
*Swings*

*Goes flying*

Possibly. Doesn't it say that each ODST has a special ability?

  • 08.10.2009 4:27 PM PDT

It would be hilarious to see an ODST go flying from a Gravity Hammer swing.
=)

  • 08.10.2009 4:37 PM PDT

a ODST could hold the hammer, but probably not use it, the reason u could use it in halo 3 was u were master chief a spartan now ur a ODST.

  • 08.10.2009 4:39 PM PDT

US Army Medic

It's too heavy for most ODST, sir.

yes

You do know that was Johnson (I think) and he is a Spartan I and he also does have flood DNA running through him, so he's no ODST

  • 08.10.2009 5:48 PM PDT

There is actually an incredibly strong factory worker in The Storm who can hold a Gravity Hammer in one hand, I suspect he's an undercover Spartan.

Are you serious? Johnson plays like the other ODST. He isn't any more powerful than the others, Gameplay wise.
