You could listen to what going on elswhere or something like a cool easter egg or maybe super has hooked up to your pod and shows you images of the covies near your friends so you cold warn them and help them. The pod your in could also give you ammo and weapons to

How about if they die, they respawn at a checkpoint, but it doesn't restart it so other players can still go around searching for clues. That way it wouldn't be wasting time for either side.
