Well I guess it wouldn't hurt but in the beta screens the shield bar remains the same as E3 and as the weekly update's said that the hud was finshed and they were so confident that it was final that they removed the old hud permanently.

first off the HUD from the leaked screen and E3 arnt the same. second, bungie confirmed the E3 presentation HUD was a placeholder. third, the HUD from the leaked screens could change anytime between now and nov 9. where in the update did it say the HUD was finished?

I never miss a headshot. So why do you need a visual health bar? Even with %400 health, I'll take you out with one shot. lol Health bars.. Here's a tip.. Pay attention to your shields, because without them, you're as good as dead, right?

wrong

it took to missiles...but you got it in one shot. damn, you must be 7 times better than everyone on earth...

Fire up your Xboxes!! Go to edit gametypes - set it to 400% health and no shields. One shot to the head is all you need. Like I said, you will not need a health bar, just a shield.

Well, you have to get through their shields first man, you need to word that better. Unless you plan on meleeing them in the back.

The energy shield has no effect on a visual health bar. Bar, or no bar, I will remove your health in one shot. Or, should I say, I can remove your health in one shot?

In Halo we can remove 33% percent of ones shield, and all 8 bars in one pistol shot (the 3rd one). So screw those health bars. Unless they plan on making them useful.

Twelve Large you keep contradicting yourself. You are the main person pulling for a change in the pistol and more shots needed to kill someone. It Halo: CE it took one shot to the head with no shield in order to kill someone, it will be different in Halo 2 more than likely, assuming there is no pistol which you want. Also.. the health bar did play a part, if it didn't why would someone be left with one bar, two bars, so on.. and why would you need health packs? Geez the more I think about it, your post was so stupid.. it made no sense, are you really that dumb?

I never said I wanted more shots to kill someone. When did I say that? I never said I wanted the pistol removed from Halo 2, either. I would welcome back the pistol with open arms. In the end, all I want is balance. But I'm just a noob, so don't listen to me or respect my opinions, okay?

Let me resort back to my original question. Why are you such an ass?

Actually, Im worried that if one does'nt have a health reading, one would'nt know when to look for a med kit. The shields won't tell me. All along I have shields and engaging the enemy when I should be looking for a med kit. Thats my only concern.

I highly doubt that they'll remove the health system entirely. There's always some form of health underneath the shields, that's what shields are, so I'm sure that whether it's the old way or a new one, there'll be a health system.

Remember what Louis Wu said, leaked images contain tons of information for beta testing, etc. As well as placeholders and missing features.

I never got the impression that by getting rid of the health graphics, they were getting rid of or changing the health system. By some of the posts, I get the impression this is what some of you think. Maybe I'm just the one getting the wrong impression.

The idea, iirc, behind no shields, is to change how people play the game. Halo did quite a few things that changed FPSers, or at least, how people played Halo as a FPS. The shield system for one, and the two weapon limit as another. I'm sure Halo 2 will bring some new ideas to the table.

When do i go for a health packet if I have no GUI indicator? Well, if your shields are down, and you got shot, but aren't dead, it may be a good idea to get a health packet if its nearby. Or you can realize what Bungie is trying to do (like stop clunching your wound. Remember the Rules of the Vid Master! Long live Marathon!). Maybe. I for one am willing to place my faith in Bungie and whatever they do is for the best.

I'm just not lstening to knight, because of what he said yesterday and this coment proves he's a retard, first of all, they havent dont the hud yet, so how could they confirm anything from an early beta version? and where, in your infinite knowledge, pray tell, did they confirm this?

I read it in a press scan somehwere, cant remember, it was someone who played at e3 04 and wrote a magazine aritcle afeterwards. and anyway what else would they do?

Wow Spartan 1337 got shut up quick LOL.
How "1337" can you be if you don't know how the game works?

But on topic, what if you just end up moving slower, or the Heartbeat noise gets louder?

I am so with you on this. People are just afraid of change that's all. Teddman from opa ages siad it didn't affect how he played the game and if you didn't look you wouldn't even notice. Shiska said there still is health but you just cant see it and he explained it very good I wish he would come in here and clear this all up AGAIN. Whether it be the Pistol's unfairness or the petitions for bots or this, these topics are really the only topics that ever are really discussed on this forum.

Ok i started reading this post and honestly people, stop flaming each other the facts are that:

In E3 2004, there was only a shield bar. They said they removed the health because it takes up too much space and they emphasized that its still the same, once ur shields are down you get 2 or 3 shots and your toast (just like in the books). Its way more realistic and quite frankly, i think they tweaked the shields to be a tad stronger to make up for lack of health. I read this in an official bungie press website forum and i forget where it was but it was official that they removed it.

It IS likely that it MIGHT change but AS OF now, there are NO HEALTH BARS, just shields. If anyone says OTHERWISE im demanding official proof of your so called "theres still health" theories. THERE IS NO HEALTH BARS AS OF NOW

Btw, if i missed something it was because i stopped reading after about the 7th post.
plus
There is no pistol in Halo 2, atleast the one you all know. Its a new kind. There is no zoom and it fires high magnum bullets, ironicaaly its called the Magnum. It has worse accuracy then the previous pistol but higher damage. Read Halo:First Strike for details.

Nice way of saying it General M there's a slight chance of the health to come back but dont count on it because this is probably how it's going to be come november 9th. And finally someone who actually read's the books!

They also introduce the new battle rifle in FS. They find them under the mountain in Reach.
and also, i think its better that there isnt a health bar because in the books, master chief started to..(for lack of a better word) panic and immediatly found a way to end the fight because his MJOLNIR armour can;t take much of a beating after the shields are gone. so basically they made it like the book and i hadly say i can blame them. Now all you n00bish weeners are gonna have to move instead of fighting, finding cover, letting shields recharge then repeating the process. It should be very interesting to see how these people will play on Live!
