go to your control panel. Make sure it's on the "Classic view" then click on the icon for "Windows Firewall". then in the window that opens up you can either turn off your firewall (i don't suggest you do this) or make Halo and exception to the firewall. You can do this by going to the Exceptions tab and browsing for the app. Halo, if u have a link to Halo on ur desktop select this link, so from now on when u start Halo from a link on ur Desktop the firewall won't affect it.

It helps if you tell us what firewall youre using.

Ex:
Windows XP SP2 Integrated Firewall

But if its just the XP integrated, it shouldnt give you any problems with halo.

Firewalls sometimes, even when off, leave "trace" blockers, which block certain programs from accessing the internet.

i would never shut down my firewall... even for a game

personally i have my firewall set up normally, but the ports halo uses are cleared on both my software firewall (zonealarm BEST FIREWALL EVER) and my router

it works.

http://www.portforward.com helps

Hey, Heero, tell me, how do you get ZA to allow Halo? Ive always had to turn it off when I play halo. Even then, it doesnt always work since it leaves those "trace" blockers I mentioned earlier.

Hmm...looking around that linked website...

Oh, and Heero's right. ZoneAlarm is one of the best firewalls ive used...what makes it better is that its free!
