I was wondering what any of you would concider if OSDT let you configure your weapon with different attachments before beginning a level. For example, you could modify an MA5C with a silencer, VISR-only visible laser pointer (invisible to anyone without a VISR equiped), a smart-linked X2 scope, and an underbarrel 40mm GL.

Different weapons would have a different number of hardpoints, anywhere from 1 to 4, allowing a player to customize their weapon to suit their asthetic wants as well as functionality.

This is Halo! Its a totally different game than your precious CoD! Why is it so many people make suggestions for ODST that are straight from CoD??

kind of

i thought more like SOCOM

and for the record, COD only lets you use one attachment, which is kinda stupid.

GRAVITY CAT NOT AMUSED
Process initiated : Attempting to give a damn

Process stopping : Unable to give a damn, stopping

Process failed : Damn not given

Maybe, but I don't think it will happen.

  • 08.11.2009 2:21 PM PDT

more like vegas 2

  • 08.11.2009 2:21 PM PDT

it wouldnt be halo 3 ODST it would be halo 3 modern warfare 2. it is just not halo with that on

  • 08.11.2009 2:22 PM PDT

well it would add another layer of functionality to the VISR. It would allow it to become more necessary instead of a clue-hunting device.

and Bungie did open the door to this by introducing the idea of a modified M7 and M6 SOCOM

Just as every cop is a criminal,
And all the sinners saints,
As heads is tails, just call me lucifer
'Cause I'm in need of some restraint.

Bow chicka honk honk.

It's the Planet of the Apes game, not Call of Duty: Combat Evolved.
Besides, there aren't missions in ODST. You jump out of the ship, and then it's all flashbacks.

The fight has been complete.... now get the cookies!

While we certainly share your enthusiasm for the return, we here at the Bungie.net community are mostly made up of snarky asses and jerks who will ridicule you for making a thread about something revealed months ago. We regret that your innocent intentions will almost certainly be replied with anger and sarcasm, and politely invite you to don your Flame-suit, because you just did the internet equivalent of jumping up the Construct lifts.

Whats OSDT?

Go Rams and Missouri!

Why would Bungie change and try to be like CoD? CoD makes minimal changes from game to game, and Halo 3 is the reigning champ on Xbox Live, and it has been the most-played game for 90% of its lifetime.

  • 08.11.2009 4:01 PM PDT

why does this bring up notions of CoD4? SOCOM and other games before it have done it better than CoD4. Also, Bungie has attachments and mods for the SMG and magnum, but they are not able to be manipulated or changed by players, which, in my mind is a limitation.

If you introduce modified varients, isn't it better if the player is able to configure the weapon themselves?
