It's so simple that everyone overlooks it. The trueskill system is perfectly fine. The mistake Bungie made was allowing us to see our rank. Therefore, I propose that in Reach, we shouldn't be allowed to see our rank. What do you guys think?

Just like CoD4.

It isn't perfect, but it is much much better.

Because we still get fair matches. Just without being able to see our rank, people wouldn't boost and crap like that.

Yeah, but all the rank whores and critics will complain because they want something for their leaderboards.

not be able to see the highest skll/rank in social pregame and post game lobbys would be an idea. but i want to see my rank while playing ranked otherwise the game would be boring for me. no challenge

People would lose interest in playing seeing has the would loose one of the major goals that keeps people playing.

you nailed it dude... an exp based ranking system for social and the same type ranking system for ranked would satisfy everyone... then again... I wouldn't miss social if they got rid of it entirly.

If we have to have visible ranks, then I damn well better be able to see someone's highest rank, because that's really the best measure of one's skill. Example: someone has a 4 in Squad Battle (or any other playlist) but is 50 high-skill, we know they aren't a legit 4 or anything close to it.

Why do you think that not seeing a highest rank in Social is going to change anything? The people who cheat aren't terribly concerned with Social; the rank will still be visible in Ranked lists, and that's where the people who are willing to cheat for a rank will reside.

"no challenge" -- is the challenge in beating the other team or in making some ranking system that you probably don't fully understand (no offense, almost no one does) increase your rating? To me the challenge is in the game, the number doesn't mean anything.

Actually, that wouldn't satisfy everyone. The boosting will still be there, and if someone exploits the system then someone else pays.

^reads^ -face palm- it's not Bungie's rank system it's Microsofts rank system and it is flawed ....... but i don't care about my rank in a game >.>

It's microsoft's system, but Bungie's the one that let us see our rank.

My band and artist networking/information site. Check it out!

the way i see it, bungie, and microsoft see the communities frustration with the current system, so they might just change it something different, we'll have to wait and see.
