I came up with this idea more noob like people who need more help then bungie is currently providing so here it is: a multiplayer A.I. that tells u what to watch out for who just picked up certain weapons telling u where u should go and also tell u who has the flag or who is carrying the bomb and what not

No. If you give a man fire, he will be warm for a day. If you set a man on fire, he will be warm for the rest of his life.

Giving beginners fire as you outlined in your OP is admireable, but in the long term, it would be much better to set them on fire and learn how to play the game without needing to rely on such helpful information. Besides, stronger players would just use it as a free system to gather random bits of information that they can ignore at will, so it wouldn't be an advantage for new players.

changing kit

I think the saying goes more like:
If you give a man a match he will be warm for a day,
if you give him a lighter he will be warm for the rest of his life...

But I'm not sure :P

We already have A.I. just not the kind your talking about. When some one picks up the ball/flag, the game says "Ball/flag Taken".

  • 08.11.2009 4:13 PM PDT

I dunno I think it would be cool to have a partner in multiplayer. I'm not sure about the telling you where to go bit but what if the AI was basically just doing the announcer's role but with some customisation options, you could choose male/female and personality like sarcastic, supportive etc. The only real problem I can see is having a voice talking to you ingame all the time could get annoying when you're talking to your teammates. Maybe it would be for slayer only?.

  • 08.11.2009 4:14 PM PDT

If the AI is annoying as Cortana then I'd be turning it off straight away. I think it would be better for people to learn on their own.

  • 08.11.2009 4:18 PM PDT

Make it like the super intendet, little sings not cortana.

I know what u guys meen about an annoying A.I but this would be more like an optional thing for people who need that extra help butif bungie didnt want realy good people taking advantage of it they could make it so that once u get a certain amount of xp the A.I is no longer able for use

  • 08.11.2009 5:38 PM PDT

No just replace the anouncer with a A.I. FOREVER!

  • 08.11.2009 5:40 PM PDT

I see that working in Basic Training playlist for new accounts

Why did you copy that info from my profile? Why not just hit quote on my post and then type in what you had to say?

I like mines better.

If you think about it, it makes perfect sense, if you set a man on fire, he will be warm for the rest of his life.

Only in custom games for forge.

It would be good, but maybe you would have to become a certain rank, like become a spartan officer or something...

Just set it so you can change the announcer's voice, and call that the AI. Give each AI a personality, too. I'd had for it to just be new voices for the announcer.

Also, if they create a class system (Which, for the record, I am opposed to), they should have the AI give you class-relevant information, such as enemy vehicle locations if you're an anti-vehicle class.

And yeah, have the AI help new players out a bit somehow, maybe by giving tips with their current weapon until they get a few kills with it or until hitting a certain XP.

Here’s what Luke had to say about the differences in treatment between the Spartans and Elites in Reach:

“Instead of piece-by-piece customization like the Spartans, Elite customization is a full model swap with models selected from the various Elite classes appearing throughout the Campaign. There are all kinds of reasons for this, not the least of which is our continued emphasis on the Spartan as your identity in Reach.”

As long as the person giving you advice is this guy
