Subject: Do you like my Multiplayer Scarab game mode idea?

RED BRICK STUDIOS!

This would have to be on a large map. Larger than Sandbox. What would stop a Scarab from firing it's beam across Sandbox to destroy the base? (And don't even get me started on the destructible base thing) The little details (cover, graphics needed for Scarab beam, vehicles for attackers, etc) are what would ruin this map. A good idea, don't get me wrong, but near impossible.

they would also need to make some obsticles in wich someone would have to get off the scarab and go open the gate or something or maby were the driver/guner of the scarab has to shoot through several walls to get to their objective

RED BRICK STUDIOS!

A gate that the attackers could somehow get through without opening it? A gate that a scarab cannot climb over? More destructable environment? Sir, to have destructable environments here would mean to have them throuhout the game (Not that I would mind that).

maby for ur update #1 idea the defensive team has to guard/repair and drive the scarab over to the offensive teams base and destroy it with the scarab so in a way its ur same idea but the whole goal of the offensive team would be to kill the defensive team befor they kill them although i do think they would have to make some prety huge maps just to put this as a gameplay option

yeah when I made UPDATE #1 I was going to put the whole driving off the cliff option and leave it at that but I though I needed to add more so thats why it sounds like I disagree with it but ur idea is pretty cool and for big map well when I imagened it, it took place directly on the two scarab Halo 3 campaign battle ground and extended it a little to make a spawn point for offense

Good, now you're thinking. Although I would much rather have the Ark level's Scarab battleground, defender cover plus some nice terrain.

yes but the map would still have to be stretched prety far oh and by the way the offensive team could have acces to some smaller underground roads that lead to the scarab if followed and as for the scarab being able to climb over walls im sure they would take that out of the game mode just becaus people would more than most likly fall out of the scarab (unless in the hull)
plus they would easily get to their objective much faster

yeah almost forgot that whole battle ground so thx for reminding me but as far as maps go theyd have to create maps specific to this game mode and you'd need a big-blam!- map just to forge a scarab.

but basicly for destructable environments, ha just the scarab beam alone, this is truely, with todays technology, a "graphical" pipe dream

oh and for the climbing ability... well I honestly didnt think of it when originally writing but besides graphic lags this game mode pre-UPDATE#1 would work just the offense would spawn in cover and try to board the scarab b4 time runs out

but hey still this thread gives us fans ideas even if their possible or not

when i mentioned destructible obsticles i meant as in a tall brick wall that u have to shoot at for maby like 15 seconds befor it just completly falls apart maby only one wall like that just becaus not a lot of people like destructible environments but i mean it is a scarab we have seen what these things can do

Brick would melt instantly under a Scarab's beam.

exactly but if u notice the scarab in halo 2 took at least 10-15 seconds to melt walls so i assume this would be apropriate and as for unlockable gates they could be made of some sort of forerruner type metal or something and maby that would be the reason why it cant be melted by a scarrab beam
