As you progress throughout your life you realize that the older you get the closer your are to death, the only thing you cannot change.

Before I start this *puts on Anti-Flame Suit*

Okay guys I shall make this short and sweet and lose the usual wall of text, anyway my idea for a mode is 10 v 10 - 12 v 12 game mode called "Command"

Everyone on the team except one fights in the field and can do whatever they want, and can steal enemy equipment, raid the maps or just slaughter each other not solving anything.

Rather then the respawn points it would be up to the Command when you get onto the battlefield, although you respawn, you respawn in a carrier in the atmosphere and your "Commander" would have to control the Pelican to get you down, but now your probaly thinking "That would be boring for the person driving it" well that is not the only thing you can do.

In addition, you can drop gear down onto the field that would support your troops, you can also say once every 5-10 minutes you can go onto the field with your Pelican and start killing the other team however 2-3 Spartan Laser shots(or the equivalent can kill you.)

If you were playing as a Covenant your ship would be different, you would get a Phantom, you would also have the exact same abilities as an UNSC, EXCEPT you would be able to call in a Scarab to destroy Infantry, however when you do that 30-60 seconds later, the other team could destroy with....lets say...a Mac Blast.

3-5 rounds of this would be in a game(Depending on how many players you have), and it would all be Objective (Flag, Assault, Etc...) The first round it is picked at random however every other round it would be based on who had the best K/D spread.

Time limit for each round would be 30 mins for 10 V 10, 25 mins for 11 v 11, and 20 mins for 12 v 12.

What do you guys think.

R.I.P. Halo 2
11/9/04 - 4/15/10

- B( )B

This would not work.

this sounds like a whole new game idea, not a gametype idea. I don't see this working

Make it like Star Wars: Battlefront 2 only Halo style. Sounds pretty sweet to me.

I would not want to play a 30+ minute match. It's not a bad idea just not my cup of tea.

And what if the commander quits? Or everyone but the commander quits? Or the map/ gamemode gets really laggy? Or the dropships crash into each other? Would they just bounce off? What about wrecking into the ground? Think things through.

I think that the pelican should be AI controlled in this case.

The MAC blast would either have to be downed in power or would not work. It's power was greatly lowered in Halo Wars, as a real MAC blast would create a crater larger than a base in that game, most likely completely obliterating it. A Scarab would be torn to bits in the case of a direct hit. Plus, do you know how much lag this would accumulate?

I think it sounds like a good idea, a few flaws that could easily be fixxed with a few days worth of tinkering.

A few days? Just a few DAYS? Do you know anything about game design? Original flaws cause additional flaws when fixed, and even more flaws after that. If they changed the Pelican (that I think should not be included) to be AI controlled, it would take at least two days to give the AI paths to use.
