How about a special addition 360 that doesn't break? They could make it bright pink with ponies on the side and i would still buy it....

In light of the New Xbox Experience's (NXE also the current Dashboard UI) added function of Installing your games on to the HDD, Will halo:ODST Take advantage these capabilities? Obviously Realistically, that wouldn't be the case for the Halo 3 portion of the game but what about the Main ODST part?

If anyone Here could find me a link where this question is answered or a lluded to, that'd be great. Hell 'd even accept a "No comment" from bungie to show they actually read this!

Give me a sec, I'll go track down where Bungie said it's ok to install disc 1.

Bungie has already complemented and said that they did optimize this for HDD. I don't have a link, but I'm pretty sure it was in an old weekly update.

I thought Sketch confirmed that Halo ODST and Halo 3 will still load slower when on the HDD?

Check out the group, Planet Reach and talk about Bungie's next game without the annoyance of the public forum. Oh and it's nice there too.

You thought you had lag, it took Jesus 3 days to re-spawn.

Yes the first disc is optimized for HDD installation. The second disc which has MM on it should not be installed, just like Halo 3.

I just made this topic half an hour ago. Someone said that in one of the Weekly Updates, they confirmed installing the game decreases load times.

From what I remember, Halo 3: ODST loads faster on you HDD. The second disk, however, not so.

Found it. Apparently you should only install the first disk.

Here’s what Luke had to say about the differences in treatment between the Spartans and Elites in Reach:

“Instead of piece-by-piece customization like the Spartans, Elite customization is a full model swap with models selected from the various Elite classes appearing throughout the Campaign. There are all kinds of reasons for this, not the least of which is our continued emphasis on the Spartan as your identity in Reach.”

Disc 1 = INSTALL
Disc 2 = NOT INSTALL

Only Halo: Mythic (The Halo 3 portion of ODST where you still play as a Spartan.)
But ODST will still play perfectly fine with the game installed to your HDD. It only makes sense that they would fix this. They don't have to worry about compatibility issues...

Punch a bear in the face.

If you don't know who I am, the feeling is mutual.

I believe Lars Bakken in an interview with French journalists confirmed that the ODST disk will be good for downloading onto your hard drive but the Halo 3 Multiplayer disk will have the same problems as the original Halo 3 game.

Ok so the same answer has been given in the last 6-7 posts. I think he's got it.
