It would seem to me that the new maps are modeled as follows:

Heretic = Midship [due]

Citadel = Halo 3's The Covenant level in tower one or three where the main lift takes you up to disable the tower to ultimately bring down the barrier.

Longshore = Halo 3's The Storm where you first meet a Scarab outside.

Go Rams and Missouri!

The Longshore location is incorrect. It's certainly not from the Storm Level, and I think it's from Old Mombasa's docks, not Voi.

Ctiadel isn't exactly in the towers on the Covenant, it's just a Forerunner structure. It's not really the same design as those towers, just with the same visual style and the ramps. It's based off the Covenant, but it's a new design and layout, different from Campaign.

Your blood will clean the blood for now.

I was hoping Citadel would be something different, but that might have been too dangerous for Bungie. I was hoping for a cold stone fortress that was taken over by brutes therefore brute gear and weaponry. Kinda imagined a European Fortress. Oh well..

We will have to disagree. If you watch this, on more than one occasion I see the bottom of the lift area except that there is simply a platform sitting on one stilt where the elevator should be.

No, you see. The middle area and the surrounding hallways are a lot different. There are no doors, the ramps are a bit different, there aren't side doors instead of ramps to use, etc...

Longshore is set in Old Mombasa.

And don't let Citadel fool you. If you're looking for a great, symmetrical and competitive map, this might be the best of the bunch. Might be hard to tell from pics though.

Thanks for the clarification! The area I described in Citadel immediately reminded me of the elevator and when the player first went outside on Longshore I immediately thought of the first encounter with the Scarab in Halo 3. At any rate they look superb!

You guys really outdid yourselves. Longshore looks like the PERFECT asymmetrical BTB map that could be made. I'm loving that extendable bridge. Are there any Warthogs on it, or is there just a Ghost?

Citadel looks great too. That looks like the best of the bunch. Definitely want to play on Heretic though. I'm glad that Plasma Grenade starts returned. =)

I swear, this and the previous Mythic Map Pack are what the maps for Halo 3 should have always been like.

Mythical Group

There is no greater catharsis than arguing on the Flood.

Longshore is NOT like The Storm. Longshore is the docks of Old Mombasa, it'll be totally different.

I'm praying for a Hornet in Forge for Longshore. That would be awesome.
