Well I wanted to get a Nvidia GeForce 9400 GT 1GB: http://www.tigerdirect.ca/applications/searchtools/item-detai ls.asp?EdpNo=4138176&pagenumber=12&RSort=1&csid=I TD&recordsPerPage=5&body=

But I wanted to know if it can run HaLo 2 Vista well on medium/low

And is this a PCI express slot?

Note: I can already run Halo 2 with my nvidia geforce 7050(onbaord card) at everything low.

Thanks In Advance!~ :P

50 in H2/H3? Great, but you still fail at this.

1. Yes it is a pcie.
2. It probably could knowing it is way better than a geforce 7.
3. You may also need a new PSU if you get a new gfx card, i use my gtx 260 on a 650 watt one.

Don't buy a 9400 GT, especially one with 1gb of memory. Spend just a tad more and get a 9600 GT with 512mb. 1gb of memory on either of those cards is overkill and the card itself doesn't have the power to hit the resolutions necessary to utilize it. 512mb is perfect for a 9600GT.

Yeah lots of people told me that I could Play Halo 2 at medium with this card, I am probably gonna get this one.

But I need more feedback from more people to have an accurate answer. :D

IDK about the 9400 but way more than you would your current card. I own a newer nvidia gtx 260 and it gets 2-300 fps on max at 1280x1024. Besides, this isnt Crysis so you dont need a powerful card.

i guess just get a good mid price or higher card bcause i run it on an old intel graphics media accelerator X3100 video card and i get like an average of 24 frames which could be better if my laptop was newer and had more of every thing else.

Get a a 8800 GT. Plays Halo 2 at max settings with easily over 60 fps. In fact, anything over 60 fps with Halo 2 vista will suck, because of poor programming. Mouse stutter and poor movement. You have to force v-sync through the Nvidia Control panel since the option is not on the actual video settings menu. Of course, a lot of stuff will depend on your processor and the amount of ram you have.

It also plays Crysis fairly well at high-med.

Oh and the 8800 GT and 9600 GT are basically the same except the 8800 GT is a bit better performance wise and the 9600 is based on newer technology and doesn't over heat as much as the 8800. But overall, if your looking to play H2V at max and other games then this is the card for you. Great for COD4 and all the modern shooters.

If you only want to know about the 9400 then fine, what do I know, I've only been PC gaming since before there were video cards and 3D acceleration.

The 9400 pretty much sucks, sorry.

Just get a 9600 or 9800 or gtx 260. Those are much better cards.

Daodan Latency at 65%

I have a 9400M and a 9600M GT in my laptop. the 9400 gets about 10-20 fps on CoD4 on max. The 9600M GT gets between 50-100 fps. the 9400 is a pretty bad card to be honest. get a 9600 or higher.

why do you need to know about the 9400 and just the 9400 anyway?
