I know this has been brought up a million times, but we really should get rid of the old threads. I think only the most recent 100 pages should stay.

I just resurrected a thread from page 800-and-something in the Underground and it got locked by Shishka - and probably rightly so, I should add. And he said we aren't allowed to "dredge up old threads", which, naturally, begs the question, why are they there.

Okay, so I did bad by resurrecting a thread, and I don't have a problem with that, or Shishka locking it, just makes me wonder why the threads are there...

Ach! Was ist los?

Those? Those are a monument to all your sins...

It's true, some of us have valuable data hidden in those dusty depths.

Yes, but when they are brought back they got locked. Which isn't nice...

Deleting them would defeat the purpose of a search feature. Don't reply to it unless you have something construcitve to say or something that adds to the dead discussion.

Unlike those threads/posts from the old site. Bungie should go back, take the posts from the old site, and make it into a little site. That way, we could go back and see what we said back then.

I'm not that active, but never dead.

You mean This?

Yes, but a site where you could go back and see everything. At least on my computer, I get errors that do not let me view some posts or other things from the site. I did however manage to find the one chapter that kept me here on b.net.

The Arbiters

Thats what I wish the new "groups" would offer. Members online, 5 recent posts, etc. All that old goodness wrapped within the new.

By all means, use the wayback machine to visit the old new bungie.net. Just don't read my posts on the old Underground. Pervert.

Old threads are dead discussions, but that doesn't mean you can't read them.

He's right. Whether it be the only picture you've ever posted of yourself on the internet, or one's ignorant days when he, himself, disobeyed the rules but is now an upstanding member of B.net.

You can find a lot of dirt on some of the B.net members in those archives. However, you only strike gold when you find an old, never-to-be-forgotten, skeleton of one of B.net's more currently prestigious members. Yes, it's devious, but it can also have some pretty funny results.

Well i think we should keep them. When we get a forum search we will be able to have a hugh archive of info to search under.

Yeah, that's a good point. I take it all back, keep the archives...

The holy Archives of Bungie...

Anyways, what if the old threads just got locked? Like all threads that beyond 100 pages in the forum will be locked. That way, people can still read it, and no one can bring up really old threads.
