Another thing I feel like adding: turrets are useless at long range. The spread will completely wear your ammo out if you tear it off.

Also, Kulikov, those are some nice additions. I'll add them to the OP.

=)

Wow.. Great guide! Can't wait to see how it will evolve once ODST has been out for a few weeks. Firefight definately seems amazing.

OK, I've update the OP with information from others, and a special thanks section.

You may want to add a section about skulls and their effects. It might be too obvious, but it's a suggestion.

I love you stosh.

Excellent guide. But...I thought everyone knew that already. Well at least I did. Never charge a chieftain, stay away from hunters, etc...

It's common sense. Right?

Anyways, good job!

You'd think everyone knew, but trust me, I've seen so many cases of "oh look, let me see if I can melee this Hunter!"

Yeah now that you mention it... there was that one guy who tried to stick an oncoming Chieftain, and ended up glitched halfway through the ceiling.... *Chuckles*

Here’s what Luke had to say about the differences in treatment between the Spartans and Elites in Reach:

“Instead of piece-by-piece customization like the Spartans, Elite customization is a full model swap with models selected from the various Elite classes appearing throughout the Campaign. There are all kinds of reasons for this, not the least of which is our continued emphasis on the Spartan as your identity in Reach.”

Firefight:
The most target rich environment you can imagine.

Prioritizing these targets is necessary. The order in which you prioritize them will determine how effective you are. Using a plasma pistol to take down a Hunter is not the best use of your time and ammunition.

The way you prioritize enemies can follow this formula, when using a headshot weapon.

TOUGHNESS OF OPPONENT x THREAT OF OPPONENT = HIGHEST TARGETING PRIORITY

So, a Jackal Sniper will be your highest priority.

Why?
Beam Rifle: Massive damage, 0 time to target, 0 warning, unlimited range.
Jackal: 1 headshot to kill, weakest of all targets. No armor or shields.

Beam Rifle + Jackal = High Threat/Low Toughness = Highest targeting priority.

Second in line are Grunt Specialists with Fuel Rod Cannons.

Fuel Rod Cannon: Massive damage, Area of Effect, high Rate of Fire
Grunt: 1 headshot to kill, second weakest of all targets.

And so on.

Here is a rough list for headshot weapons of target preference:
Jackal Sniper
Grunt Fuel Rod
Grunt Needler
Grunt Plasma Pistol
Jackal Shield
Armorless Brutes
Drone Needler
Drone Plasma Pistol
Drone Specialist
Wraith?
Brute w/ Beam Rifle
Brute w/ Fuel Rod Cannon
Brute w/ Brute Shot
Brute w/ Carbine
Brute w/ Spiker or Brute Plasma Rifle
Brute Chieftan w/ Turret
Brute Chieftan w/ Hammer
Hunter w/o Armor
Hunter w/ Armor

For anti-shield weapons (plasma pistols, brute plasma rifles), it is a little different:
POTENTIAL FOR DAMAGE x THREAT OF TARGET = HIGHEST TARGETING PRIORITY

Also, against large groups of grunts and Jackals, having the person on the left kill ones on the left while the player on the right kills ones on the right.

That way, you don't waste ammunition by shooting at the same target.

By all means, improve it with your knowledge.

Remember to have Blackeye Skull in mind when it's on. Get the shields of a Brute, let it attack you, get around it and assassinate. Full Health!

No offence, and I appreciate your effort, put this is pointless.

The game is still over a month from release date. This topic will probably die by then.
Not only that, but it's Halo. It's the easiest game out there to play. You don't need a guide for stuff that we already know, or is just common sense.

I agree.

Wait until the game is out and THEN make guide.

One stick won't kill them when all Skulls are turned on.

He'd have instantly stopped and knelt down, one fist on the ground, hoping to be impervious to the officer's attacks. When this would have failed and he's in the back of the police car, he'd blame his predicament on his friends for not being team players.

Just because you won't use it; Doesn't mean someone else won't.

And this game uses the same enemies from H3. We already know their strengths and weaknesses. We don't need the game out to know this kinda stuff.

Good list Dropship! I added it to my list so more people can see it.

Wow really helpful. Very Impressed Guys. Better add my own advice. Plasma Pistols are golden, over charge is just so useful against brutes. One guy equipped with plasma pistol and automag (pistol would also work) another with a specialist weapon and and automag. Teams of two is the way to go.

Good guide, you should update this so now and then. You can equip 12 grenades in total right? Cause I saw some screenshot where they were carrying 3 frag and 3 spike grenades!
