I agree with slegger and some other people here... why waste time making a guide on something that hasnt even come out yet? And this IS just halo common sense!

Oh and about wraiths on FireFight.. it seems to me they would be easy to destroy considering on Tsavo Highway people can board a wraith while being attacked by 1-2 other wraiths 3-5 choppers and a shade turret... (that part with the field right before you go on that long bridge to the end of the level)

P.S. - I didnt mean to be offensive at all

Excellent guide. But...I thought everyone knew that already. Well at least I did. Never charge a chieftain, stay away from hunters, etc...

It's common sense. Right?

Anyways, good job!
You'd think everyone knew, but trust me, I've seen so many cases of "oh look, let me see if I can melee this Hunter!"

=P

Thats fun

Covenant and Human Weapons: When to use Which.

Remember, since the Covenant use those nasty plasma based weapons, they are great for eliminating enemy shields(Brutes & Jackals). You'll always have an upper hand if you blast them with some alien plasma and then use the lead bullets finish them off.

Remember Covenant weapons will show up constantly(Since those are the weapons that the waves of enemies drop at you.), keep an eye on your ammo for Human weapons so you don't waist them.

Very insightful. Sounds a lot like what I do in Gears of War's horde mode.

Photographers are sexy.

I'll just write down all of my tactics that I used on solo Halo 3 Legendary campaign.

Wraiths: if you are able to sneak up behind a wraith, don't just run up, or it may turn around. Especially if it is near a pack of brutes, or is just a bit to far from your position. Instead, use a charged plasma pistol bolt to stall it, then quickly dash up, get on the fan, and take out all your anger. **This will only work if you can hijack vehicles in ODST as you can in Halo 3.**

Needler - if you are in a pinch, pick up one of them, because one detination will take out a shielded foe, except Chieftans.

Spike Grenades: Note that if one is stuck on the ground, you can be right next to it and receive minimal damage. The most damage is exerted behind the handle that they are held by. You can use this to lay quick fuse 'booby traps' if you are being followed. Just stick one onto a wall or ceiling, and anybody tracking you will be in a world of hurt.

This one is kinda dumb, but if you manage to jump on top of a brute, you can position yourself to get an assassination while riding on his back.

not that i already have played odst but i can say things that always works.
first of al communication is every thing!

let some 1 lead or have a few friends that understand each other good so there wont be things like HA i got the sniper!

try not to forget the things u already know about campaign macht making and custom games they help a lot u can see different techniqeus (sorry i can't spell that good) so if u see things that work...
go to teather it will help u see different play styles so u practice on that's style or learn from it.

wraith's
the main thing is that they are strong shoot in like a bow (if u get what i mean) they dont shoot straight. so u could easly dodge them because the take long to reach u but the are also sneaky if u have a wall near u and a window or something!
and never forget the wraith is not weak enough to melee/hyjack from front cause it haves a turret and a boost that gives a slight chance to splatter u!

Spike's
Nade's that almost always stucks (exept for shieldoors and stuff) these things could be very handy for a straight line if there are to people u can stuck the last one and hit the one in front this is very handy to take out shields!
these nade's could be very handy for conores cause the stick to most wall's the nade have's more precision on corners then any other nade try to use it wisely.
Also good for taking out little one's(but u better save them for the big one's)

then there are teams, Team up!
Team up with u friends and learn to know how u every one of u play's this will help a lot if u know some 1 is good in taking over vechiles let him do the work while u give cover! or listen to what he/she got to say.
Your teamy's playstyle.
if u know how u teammate/teammate's plays go and learn how to help them and support them learn there weakness and be strong in that point so u have less weakness.
like different controler styles if some one has a controller style that make's one thing hard and the other pretty easy help him with the hard stuff.
Weopons:
Most important!
if u know your team u know their skills!
yes it can be realy -blam!- for u but some people can just sniper your head of!
if u know a teammate of yours is a good sniper let him get the sniperrifle (this counts for every weopon).
Tactical moment: Most of u guys so not all of u guys (and girls) know u can easly swichts weopons with your teammate's by just having a weopon on the ground(like a plasma pistol) and swichts so the weopon you or your teammate want get's on the ground.

Now some genaral information about the hunter!
The hunter is an overpowered long range good shooting heavly armored thing!
he only haves one weakness that's speed. a hunter cant turn the fast as u can so u can jump above his head right?.... No wrong he can also melee u in your face. so try not the get to close to him!
The thing what u also could do is if u have an annoying car or ghost or tank or whatever in the field try the hunter let to shoot it! like i said he's slow and overpowered using a hunter against his team is very effective but very hard!

also the last thing two things u dont have to forget are:
Stay moving then it's harder to hit for them!
Second: it's just a game dont get mad on your teammate's that's not worth it! just try again.

greetings,
nl beer

also: (yes again) my english isn't good and grammar either so if u one of u guys that have rights want to get the words good i say thanks^^ i hope u onderstand all the text.

Does anyone even know
if it's possible to 'jack' a vehicle
in ODST because it seems
like something they wouldn't
be able to pull off being
human and what not.

Nice guide! Don't forget hiding out in bunkers :D

dude hiding in firefight is suicide

Really? I thought it would be easy if you could just hide in that little hole in Crater Night. (The place where you start in)
I would have thought that too, but unlike German Zombies on World at War, bullets don't go through enemies, so holding off against a large wave of enemies will be a challenge.

Hide, and ninja. Hide and ninja.

Game isn't even out, and if the AI is like it was in Halo 3 than they would suck so bad that a guide would be unnecessary.

The AI in ODST are far more aggressive. They will charge you, and give you no leeway. If you screw up, the Covenant will destroy you. This isn't Halo 3.

Plasma PISTOL Grunts? I'd just go for the AM headshots. Only one shot, the AM was made for Grunts. Oh, and you just SMG or PP the Brutes and give 'em a headshot with the AM. And they're used for Jackals.

You know, you don't have to worry about wasting bullets since the respawns don't seem too long.

So yeah, you should just change the Grunts to "Give 'em the good ol' headshot with an AM." Else you could say: "PP brutes and then keep on shooting till they die." And that doesn't make sense, does it? :)

And about rackin' up points, headshots give more points if I'm correct. And I wouldn't give a Jackal a PP shot followed by an AM shot. That's just a waste of plasma and you'd have to keep getting new PPs. Two good placed AM shots and the Jackal is dead. BUT, if you're really desperate for a couple more points then go for it, PP/AM the Jackals.

I'm gonna check the point difference between two good placed shots on a Jackal with a PP/Headshot on Normal with

Tough Luck,
Catch,
Fog,
Famine,
Thunderstorm,
Tilt,
Mythic

I'll be reporting back.

Back, twice as much points. But it'd be a pain to keep on picking up PPs.
Normal headshot: 228
PP plus headshot: 456

Another one, it costs like 14 Sniper bullets on Normal with Mythic and Tilt on to kill one blue Brute, grade 2.

Dealing with Wraiths: PP the Wraith, then PP the gunner seat and give 'im a headshot and after that it's really easy to get close to the Wraith just strafe the plasma balls and board it. I'd just wait until the infantry is dead.

Doubt it, and I have seen no evidence that the AI is any better than Halo 3's.
