Subject: Halo 3 ODST second map pack disk

Would this disk be a one time use? Like, what if my hard drive randomly broke, would I just have to buy everything on the marketplace and waste more money, or can I just re download it again?

Helping out the 7th column community with reasonable posts since '07.

Well originally you can re-download everything because all data is accessed through your Gamertag, not Hard Drive. Also the second disc for multiplayer has everything coded onto the disc, so no downloading acquired.

Say my gamertag was banned because of noobs on halo. Does this mean I can't use the maps on my second profile then? Also, the disk would download, that's how you get the maps in the hard drive and have the halo 3 disk in.

You can still use the disc that has all the maps on a different profile, but I don't know how it works with Halo 3 (original).

My troll sense is tingling.

You don't have to buy again if it's on the same hard-drive.

Well I was thinking it's just a download to your hard drive and anyone can play. But if the mythic and legendary becomes free after odst release, wouldn't the disk be a one time use because of people just going to eachother's house and re downloading. But then again, you can do that with online downloaded content so I'm not sure.

Thought you meant download from the market place. The second disk isn't an install disc like Oblivion game of the year edition. It has Halo 3's multiplayer with all the maps and no campaign. It's a good thing for me cause I'm running out of space on my hard drive.

im not sure

Well my friend has the oblivion shivering isles disk and he let his friend use it too and they were both able to have it. So I don't really know if it would work like that for ODST... But yes, it will be an install disk. You can't just have the maps magically appear on your hard drive taking up no space.

No the maps are saved on your hardrive, but since the second disc is, a disc and it has all the maps "on it" then all you have to do is put the disc in the console and you will always have all the maps.

What about bungie pro. I never downloaded mythics, but I played my profile at my friends house and I had bungie pro for like 3 days. Does this disk/game give you any chance of a few months of bungie pro?

It is NOT an install disc. To play the maps, you put the disc in, and the game starts like Halo 3.

Menu pops up with the option for: matchmaking, custom games, forge, and theater.

There is no download required. I don't know where you heard that.

Look up in the top left hand corner.
There you will find a tool that is rarely used.
Maybe you should use it.

But you can't campaign with it then?

No, so if you still get that urge to play Halo 3's campaign, keep the original disc.

Ah, clears up the confusion. Thankyou darthnazgul.

It's not an install disc. It's Halo 3's Multiplayer. You don't download anything. ODST's second disc is exactly like Halo 2's Multiplayer Map Pack Disc. You play the maps straight from the second disc. As far as I know, these maps DO NOT go onto your Halo 3 disc with Campaign.

This is already covered. Read the forum before you post >.>

Hey Guys.

I am Founder of the group FireFight Custom Games
Another Great Group is New Mombasa Join them both :P

My Real GamerTag is XbL ShutDown.

I can't be bothered reading the whole Thread but the Second Disc has all 21 Halo 3 Maps Preloaded onto the disc including 3 new ones (Citadel, Longshore and Heretic) You will be able to play Matchmaking, Custom Games, Forge and Watch Theater on the Second Disc and play with people who have Halo 3 as well.

You do not need to download anything at all well maybe an Xbox Live System Update for Halo 3 and Halo 3: ODST.

Hope this helps and if your a idiotic person who says read the thread before you post then I would like you to read my first sentence.
