Subject: Covenant Equivalent

Here's a list of vehicle equivelants that I came up with (judging by size, purpose, and power):
Mongoose-Ghost/Chopper
Warthog-Spectre/Prowler
Scorpian-Wraith
Cobra-Locust
Wolverine-AA Wraith
Hornet-Banshee
SparrowHawk-Vampire
Pelican-Phantom/Spirit/Shadow
Longsword-Seraph
Shortsword-Seraph
Vulture-Scarab (power)
Elephant-Scarab (troop carrying)

Only one thing I don't agree with, the Elephant is more like the Shadow than the Pelican. So Elephant = Shadow.

Elephants carry way more infantry to be considered the equivlant of the Shadow. Reason why I considered the Shadow the equivlant of a Pelican is pecause they carry about the same amount of troops, and that they are about the same size (cockpit and troop area). The Elephant is considered a mobile base, not just a troop carrier. Scarabs also is considered in this catagory.

Oh hey Arbycuesause, what's going on.

I think a Covenant Missile Pod that shoots hyper explosive Needles would be awesome, it could have slightly more ammo and would explode when three - six of them are in the vehicle, it would most likely be powerful enough to take down half - 3/4's shield on a Scorpion driver.

Only problem is, is that the Needler is anti-infantry, not anti-vehicle. Those better be bigass needles to actually hurt a tank.

Well, it works in Halo Wars, so why not in Reach? And yes, I'm actually suggesting a rather large Needle.

The only reason why they used Needlers for anti-air is because they ran out of options. They used Plasma Mortar for anti-infantry, fuel rods for anti-vehicle, what else was there to use?

A Covenant AR would be good. Would be nice to have a Halo game where we regularly use Covie weapons rather than just falling back on the BR and AR.

I personally am hoping the Laser is removed for Reach. It is overpowered and wrecks vehicle combat. If it does stay a decent Covie equivalent would be good, in my eyes it would be a weapon that fires high lobbed focussed energy mortars that home in on a target with a fire-and-forget (that it took any skill) system. H2 Rocket launcher stylee.

I hunt for the Prophet of Contentment, the San 'Shyumm that murdered my son, and stole his birthright, his Energy Sword. They call our species Heretics. They claim to all that our tongues sting, our words a vile poison that feeds on the unworthy. I have seen the true face of Heresy. The head of a gallant warrior lay on the ground. His neck scorched and blistered, scarred by his own blade. I shall retrieve the weapon, and drive it through that bastard's heart! Punishment for his sins is nigh.

Scarabs are only really considered large tanks. The thing is is there is no real "Equivalent" between the UNSC and Covenant gear, they always have differences, and similarities, in this case, the Covenant version, the Shadow, would be faster, only have one weapon, and the driver and troops would be more exposed. If used for CTF, the Flag could spawn on top of the Shadow, near the Turret.

In the Books, Pelicans were described as carrying 25+ troops btw.

Which weapons, vehicles, or about anything would you like to see a Covenant equivalent of?

What I mean by that is take for instance the BR. The equivalent is the Carbine, even if it is a bit different. Sniper - Beam Rifle. Scorpion - Wraith.

Which things would you like to see have an equivalent?

i would hardly consider the wraith an equivalent of the scorpion it is insanely terrible its almost impossible to kill someone with

Ok, the Scarab is an Uber Tank, but I listed it as a part equivalent of the Elephant because it can carry as many troops as an Elephant. Anyways, the Pelican is a transport for both troops and vehicles, so is the Shadow. Also, the Shadow is destructable and is fast, not a good idea as a flag spawn.

I think I might switch the Spirit as an equivlant for the Albatross, because I see it more as a transport for supplies, etc., more than a troop carrier. Both Phantoms and Spirits were used throughout the war, so why was it used as a troop transport if there was the better Phantom? Anyways, it seems more suitable for the tasks for transporting heavier vehicles and supplies than infantry.

I'd like to see a flame thrower equivalent. Something that actually shoots like plasma, like a large blow torch or something. That would be awesome.

Hunter gun for the flame thrower

in halo wars the giant needle emplacements were AA, Fuel rod was anti vehicle, so why not give us a needle enplacement(turret) that is set up like the MMaking missle pod... it homes and explodes; there is your equivelent
