I'm sure if they really wanted to they could code it in an update to the game, like the type of udate for adding new playlists or fixing bugs, you log on xbox live and put in Reach, which should already be in the xbox anyway...then it would ask you if you wanted to update the game, and you would say yes, and after 10-30 minutes, its game on...of course the servers for the game mode would be totally crashed for the first 24 hours, like they were in the beta

No, that would be dumb it has to actually be coded in the game.
Too late.

instead of many other ideas of just dying it should have a 1 min time limit and once thats over your player automatically starts walking to the hev and enters it

  • 08.07.2010 6:14 PM PDT

I've seen games code things in late before...plus it could always be DLC

spartans must get a sabre and fly to the cruiser (sabre must be bought) to destroy it with the bomb, but Covies get a scarab(must be bought) to take down the unsc cruiser

also first to 250 and newer loadouts every 50 kill interval- 50 100 150 200 etc.

  • 08.07.2010 6:19 PM PDT

good idea, but 50 kills, oh for each team, so when the team gets 50, hmm that might work, for 20v20, but for 8v8 or 10v10 it would probaly have to be 25, maybe not, well if its that many people the score limit would have to be lowered anyway, or you'd be playing the same game for a half hour, or more

how bout this, instead of the covenant getting a scarab to take down the cruiser, im no saying that there cant be scarabs, personally, i want them, how bout for the covenant victory, they get to glass the battlefield

that an AMAZING idea. thats pretty much a freakin war. except buying the guys. just go rip them out of their containers in the carrier and clip them onto your belt/drop pod and after being on the ground for a while call in an ammo/weapon drop at the base

this game mode sounds amazing!

  • 08.07.2010 6:46 PM PDT

how bout this, right before you drop, you have a choice to pick one semi-power-weapon, up to the grenade launcher, yes, including the concussion rifle, and then a choice between an assault rifle, pistol, and depending on your choice of semi-power-weapon, like if you picked a shotgun or energy sword you could get a DMR. but the pistol will always be a choice. You go over to the armoury wall which is in the hall way before the drop, but you only have 10 seconds (ten seconds to comply), because its a soft kill zone. then you grab your weapons, leave and drop

Yeah i always wanted a huge team slayer/objective. It would would lag a whole lot though so most of the time it whould have -blam- terrible quality. Also, where would you find such a big map? It would take a long time to finish the game too.

  • 08.07.2010 7:33 PM PDT

to answer your question, for a large map, try Forge World, for the game length, it would depend n the amount of players, with 20 people oneach team, it woud go up to 250 pretty quick, 10 kills per person and you have 200 kills already, then it really depends on a lot of factors

The Sniping Spartan.

HOLY -blam!- u need to get a job at bungie!!!!!!!!

  • 08.07.2010 9:07 PM PDT

someone needs to keep this idea up, so more people notice it's awesomeness

  • 08.07.2010 11:12 PM PDT

Maybe you could chuck some AI in there too?

  • 08.08.2010 12:52 AM PDT

Rather than a "Gun shop", how bout a UNSC Supply Requistion, which can be deployed on the battlefield through weapon drop pod.

Bungie could pull this map off, but then they would have to make more because people will eventually get bored with it. I also don't think that the engine can hold so many things such as the Cruiser and whatnot. It's a brilliant idea, but it needs some more work.

“It’s only after we’ve lost everything that we’re free to do anything.”

Notes:
page 88.

your idea is just a huge TDM, assault and scoring put together in this "perfect map" added a -blam!- zombie weapon buying system. personally i think is impossible to make...

  • 08.08.2010 4:53 AM PDT

I like the idea about dropping from orbit and calling a pelican in for a vehicle, but not the idea about using point's to get weapons. I liked the weapon at first but then i remembered that in Halo: Reach there are load-outs so how about after a certain amount of kills you unlock new load-outs, or if you really want the buying weapons with points idea then how about using points to make a custom load-out. So like pay for a an armor ability, primary and secondary weapon, grenade which then adds up to a total cost.

ex. Armor lock, shot gun, magnum, frag grenade x2 = 1200 points

  • 08.08.2010 4:58 AM PDT

two late now to code it in, the game is now shipping out into shops

  • 08.08.2010 5:03 AM PDT

It could end up being DLC...maybe

with my previous idea, i mentioned starting in the cruiser, grabbing your weapons, then leaving. i dont know why i didnt think of armour abilities, i probably just took it as a given, but the first ability you pick will stay with you as your default class until you unlock the other loadouts. now of course you can switch your ability by going to your teams armoury, but thats temporary, get 5 kills, then unlock the other options. it would take a while to explain, how this system would work, but i do know how it could.

the idea has been updated, the way the game ends is further down in the posts, because there wasn't enough room for it in the original spot
