maybe for this game mode instead of buying guns from kills, you could buy them with your credits and they stay with you for 5 respawns. i think this is good for people that have all the armor and nothing to spend the cR on.

10 cR: Rocket launcher, or fuel rod for covenant.

9 cR: grenade launcher, or plasma launcher for covenant.

8 cR: gravity hammer (for both teams)

7 cR: spartan laser, or energy sword for covenant.

6 cR: Sniper Rifle, or focus rifle for covenant.

5 cR: shotgun, or needler for covenant.

4 cR: assault rifle, or plasma repeater for covenant.

3 cR magnum or plasma pistol for covenant.

2 cR extra grenades: frags for spartans and plasma for elites.

nah, buy weapons from points earned in-game

A superb idea. I had the same idea actually, except with a few changes. There would be a Hanger, so you could go down in a Falcon. Maybe a Pelican, if Bungie puts it in.... Also, a Phantom, and Scarab. But each team gets ONE, ONE Scarab, And it NEVER respawns once destroyed. Also, a MAC gun that can be fired twice in a game. But only twice. Please don't flame me.

i had a small idea about a scarab, i never added it in, but it would cost A LOT of points

so pretty much counterstrike with some better stuff and an awesome map :D

Halo 2 Vista (BunBun PC) Livin in the past with the best Bungie game around...Halo 2

Ok, like i said before it would be a great idea but, here are some changes.

1) You started in a hangar or base (outside of map then you either drive or take a pelican to the map) that had areas for vehicles and you used points to buy vehicles in those spots but they have a limit to avoid spamming.

2) Your team unlocks loadouts together and each loadout would have a certain limit per team to avoid over use of rockets and such.

3) You can call in vehicle drops/loadout drops in battle.

4) 250 kills needed to unlock the bomb which you then take the bomb to the enemy's in map base to blow up. You then take a flag that is now available because of a hole in the wall or something like that.

5) Instead of Elites vs. Spartans (to avoid imbalance) you either have Spartans vs. Spartans or Elites vs. Elite.

6) There are a few amount of vehicles, weapons, and AA's on the map but most you get at the base.

7) There are multiple bases in map like in territories and you capture them then your team can spawn there.

8) One person on the team is the team leader (like in V.I.P.) and staying near him gives your team an advantage such as higher damage resistance and quicker speed. The leader then changes once the original dies.

9) The map is pretty much as wide as it is long but with mountains in the middle.

10) Points are like firefight points and gives bonuses for kills, sprees, head shots, and double kills and such. You also get points for objectives and killing the team leader.

11) 1-2 Pelicans at the starting base.

12) Squad system where you and four others (for 20v20) or three other (16v16) can communicate with you squad and the team leader for the time.

13) Each time you get a kill your spawn times go down and each death it increases. (morale)

14) Multiple maps with a different feel on each.

15) In the middle of the map their is a skull that gives you points for controlling it but you have a waypoint over you to show where you are. (cannot be held in the bases)

16) If someone kills you while your waiting for a drop, they can take the drop.

17) If someone leaves an AI joins in until someone joins themselves. This AI will stay at a certain base and defend it to avoid having it keep being killed.

These thoughts were not all mine and I thank everyone who gave me ideas. If you have any other thoughts just post. Thank you,

1. idea already addressed, probably start outside the map...then drop onto it ODST style

2. that would probably be fair

3. addressed

4. screw it...just read the detailed version

I know most have already been addressed but i did read that just i don't like all the ideas. that is just what i think would be best.

  • 08.21.2010 8:39 PM PDT

alright....fair enough...I'll read more

Ok please do, there are some ideas I think are good

Josh

i remember in halo 3 there was a map were you fell out of the sky in a hev but it wasnt real they made it out of forge objects and you started from a ship in the sky

  • 08.21.2010 8:47 PM PDT

i like it, but... (i think i posted before but i am doing it again cause i don't care, not to spam) you would have to make the point scoring for each person or people could spend the points you were saving for like the sniper or somthin and spend it on what they want. this could be very annoying

_____________________________________________________________
Evaluation:

1) You started in a hangar or base (outside of map then you either drive or take a pelican to the map) that had areas for vehicles and you used points to buy vehicles in those spots but they have a limit to avoid spamming.
1. possible, but i do still like the "drop into battle" idea

2) Your team unlocks loadouts together and each loadout would have a certain limit per team to avoid over use of rockets and such.
2. like invasion, reasonable....easy to work, less work to make

3) You can call in vehicle drops/loadout drops in battle.
3. absolutely, but you need to earn certain amounts of points to make it fair, make you work for your goodies

4) 250 kills needed to unlock the bomb which you then take the bomb to the enemy's in map base to blow up. You then take a flag that is now available because of a hole in the wall or something like that.
4. perhaps, bigger explosion than normal of course...make it both amsing and entrtaining to win/lose at the same time...still lke the assault the carrier and possible glass the battlefield approaches though

5) Instead of Elites vs. Spartans (to avoid imbalance) you either have Spartans vs. Spartans or Elites vs. Elite.
5. thought of as a given, always an option, enough said, but yes

6) There are a few amount of vehicles, weapons, and AA's on the map but most you get at the base.
6. yes, having everything on the map would clutter it, many basic things like a grenade dispenser are available at the base, along with some left-over weapons from weapon drops, maybe in a separate armory that a telepoter in your base leads to, but only your team can go through

7) There are multiple bases in map like in territories and you capture them then your team can spawn there.
7. hmm, maybe i could see that working, maybe even spawn with your team? while mobile?

8) One person on the team is the team leader (like in V.I.P.) and staying near him gives your team an advantage such as higher damage resistance and quicker speed. The leader then changes once the original dies.
8. interesting concept, but i do believe someone already suggested to have a tem leader, none-the-less, good idea, also bonus if you are in a squad?

9) The map is pretty much as wide as it is long but with mountains in the middle.
9. not sure about this one, i personally don' like high-ground concepts though, i like to keep it equal, because f one team has snipers on th mountain, the other team wont get the chance to take them out before they're dead, the game is over already at that point

10) Points are like firefight points and gives bonuses for kills, sprees, head shots, and double kills and such. You also get points for objectives and killing the team leader.
10. absolutely

11) 1-2 Pelicans at the starting base.
11. sure, why not, turret on the back Halo 3 style, hard to take out, maybe even slow firing missles on the front, but as i said in the idea, maybe able to go to a separate location for a custom drop

12) Squad system where you and four others (for 20v20) or three other (16v16) can communicate with you squad and the team leader for the time.
12. sure! talk freely to your squad, hit the Left on the D-Pad to talk to the other squads, Up for the Commander...Down for everyone

13) Each time you get a kill your spawn times go down and each death it increases. (morale)
13. this could work, but i could see a couple problems with this, has to be a limit, in fact, it migt have to work the opposite way...good players spawn less often (5 sec.) to give other people a chance...and bad player get instant spawn time? maybe, but there would have to be a limit, 0-5 for fairness, little extra for the hard work

14) Multiple maps with a different feel on each.
14. definitely

15) In the middle of the map their is a skull that gives you points for controlling it but you have a waypoint over you to show where you are. (cannot be held in the bases)
15. even if so, small amounts of points, like oddball though, depends on how scoring would go...not sure about the entirety of this one though...but maybe...OOH! how bout a Core like in invasion, gives you something extra, (not going into specifics for that), not sure, maybe

16) If someone kills you while your waiting for a drop, they can take the drop.
16. yep, but they should have to capture the territory, 5-10 seconds....straight...then its theirs

17) If someone leaves an AI joins in until someone joins themselves. This AI will stay at a certain base and defend it to avoid having it keep being killed.
17. I've wanted this since the beginning...(for me, Halo 2)...but they shouldn't be that useful, just to fill the spot until someone else joins, however i would like offline bots for custom games, play against some spartans, maybe even headhunter, alone, without live

geez, that was long, but worth it, consider posting this on the newer idea's thread, keeping it in a safe place

Ok thanks for the support HawkEye. Im actually putting it in a word document on my H-Drive. I've been thinking of something like this for awhile thats why i was surprised when i saw this. But before i got real into halo, i was into call of duty (I know i hate to say it) so i thought of it for CoD but i know the Halo version will be so much better!

  • 08.21.2010 9:12 PM PDT

lol its fine, I edited it so that its Q&A instead of back and forth scrolls

Hey CoD is a great game, of course Halo is better, if only people acknowledged that

oh yes it will be

(did anyone say this before me? i didn't read through the 127 pages)

this-game-mode-specific AA.
such as an EMP that wastes all the shields of everyone (enemies, allies, and you) down to 0, and stuns vehicles,
or a Super assassinate where you just have to aim at the enemy and press the AA button. you would sprint at them then jump doing and assassins creed esque landing assassintation.

I like the idea, i personally was thinking of different AA's that could be used but couldn't think of other ones that would be fair. The ones you mentioned would be too unfair. If you have any other ideas please post.
