but the idea above wouldn't work
e.g they have a bomb and a noob call in a mongoose before you can call in a rocket hog or falcon etc.

There's really nothing quite like the feeling you get from taking off in an airplane, not many understand this feeling, but nothing in the world can come as close to a feeling of freedom as flight. I was born to do this.

I think we could pull something like this in Reach with the new awesome forge options. I have a "project" idea, but this is my own private idea (don't want people stealing my ideas on the internet, not you). Anyways, you could design a cool map on blood gulch (forge world map)that is suitable for a good battle and then create "ships" above the map that float and people spawn in, but can't re-enter. you could also add the shield door things (i forgot their names) so that people can't camp up there.

well, I think I may have just found an example for our server problem...now, I may get yelled at for comparing, but I'm not, this is just an example to show its possible to have thousands of people on the same server. lag wouldn't be a problem because that usually has to do with YOU....or the HOST....which by the way there should be a thing where people vote to boot the host for connection problems

If you've ever heard of or played certain online games such as WoW or RuneScape....you know that they can fit a couple thousand players at the same time in just one server....now that includes all fightng, even talking, at the same time.

Each player has their own computer that they play on, just like we have our own consoles...all conected to a network server, while playing....fighting, and running around, with the right animations.

If those games can support at least a thousand people in one server, and also remember, they have many servers...I think this game is possible

You could make it like a Firefight map and block off certain parts as Covenant spawn points. This could make it a little more difficult because you wold need to restock up on ammo while fighting off Brutes with Fuel Rod Guns and stuff.

It IS an amazing idea. But there could be some tweaks I would see Bungie making if they were to adapt this into their game. But over all I admire your creativety and think Bungie or 343 Idustries should take a look at it.

I absolutely love the idea, and thats why bungie continue to keep forums like this open. For amazing ideas. It's just such a shame you only released this idea in August....They completed all bugs etc recently, therefore the ideas process ended ages ago. However, I believe with enough support there may be a chance for this to be in their new project (depending on whether it's a Shooter XD).

Bungie are keeping 4 workers on post release admin and management, and however hard they try; I personally believe it's impossible for these 4 to optimise the engine for this strain, whilst creating a simple game type, and making maps and making DLC and keep everyone happy on reach meanwhile.

However it's shown the strength and support people can quickly obtain with such a good community. Such a shame you're becoming a doctor and not a developer ;)

Even though you did mention some problems with this game mode. Instead of buying your vehicles or I have misread. The pelicans should have them drop down a certain amount of vehicles each certain point of the game or time. Like let's say every 2 minutes and 30 seconds a few warthogs and mongooses drop. The second time, 2 Scorpions or heavy weapons vehicles drops, or maybe air craft vehicles can drop to cover the map quicker.

And let's say you die with the weapon you purchased, will you have to buy the same weapon again? Or instead you can create your own class. For the two decent starters. An Assault Rifle and a Pistol, with the sprint power up. Once you get a certain amount of kills you can purchase and customize your classes, with a Sniper Rifle and a Assault Rifle with a hologram or some sort. Unless someone in the comment section above me already came up with this idea I'm sorry. But I only had time to read the creator's forum.

That's what I have the problems with the game mode so far, but other than that I have no problem. But I want to add another thing to this game mode which I like to see, buildings with capture hills. It is a big map yes? Their should be at least some check points where you can choose to spawn. Having it be a base of some sort, instead of spawning at the back of the Ship.

And a 4 man squad should do the trick. But if the teams get close to each other they might be able to communicate, if they are mid range it's static and if they are too far. There is nothing. Or maybe just pressing the up directional pad you can communicate with the whole team. Or something. My head hurts from spilling my ideas and add ons to this thing x_x

You are a genius. I had a similiar idea a couple of days ago, where you start with bad weapons and the more kills/assists you get the better weapons you can buy/use.

i like the whole basic idea sounds like it would be hell of fun to play , although you did lose me at buying weapons eh reminded me of my days back playing roblox with laggy servers lol , plus it dosent have a halo reach however i would love like secret caches that maybe you have to compete over with the covenant ? and perhaps when you get the bomb it woudnt be so easy to detonate it at the other teams base , like make it like generator defense mode from the beta at that point , but like i agree with almost everything you said , oh one more thing why stop at 20 vrs 20? =p be wicked to bumb it up to 25 or even 30 if id be willing to be so risky xD , but alas that might be to much for bungie to handle its a shame they wont continue halo themselves after reach maybe they could of made some cool new mappack or something

although you ideas are good, there are some that are iffy....both of you....anyway back to the man's questions left unanswered

1. If you die with a weapon you purchased, you must buy it again, although, maybe when you order it, you get two, one for you, the other for the armory...interesting concept, moving on.

2. vehicles only come when you order them, although there is a warthog or two already placed on the map for your convenience, but if you need a vehicle within the next minute, but all of that type have been destroyed...you can buy one, they wouldn't be too expensive...I'll make an updated price list soon

3. You can start out with any weapon up to the grenade launcher, anything even the slightest more powerful would be unfair, you choose your default weapon for the entire game, but you can change it during a certain time while you're respawning (new idea, in case you missed it)

4. You can choose where you want to spwn, like in Invasion, even with your mobile squad

5. for the squads, we've settled one the...was it four squads of five people? yea I'm pretty sure that was it, because for 16 vs 16 it was 4 squads of 4

6. nice idea for the static! I'll keep it in mind....and we've also settled on the diectional pad functions, squad, Commander, and everyone (on your team).

7. haha nice, my head only hurts because I went to Cedar Point yesterday, and rode the Mean Streak one too many times....which by the way was once

alright, from what I could undestand...here's what Q&A's I could pick out

1. I skipped by the secret caches because for now, we're talking about a normal game, and caches don't sound too appealing to me at the moment, however I can see it happening, but as soon as the first day is over, the caches are no longer a secret, because everyone knows whre they are

2. For the bomb, Generator Defense....bla bla bla...here's the order of things.....First you drop into the game, which is big team slayer (on steroids)....then occasionally its one sided KotH when the pelican drops come in, but the hills disappear as soon as someone claims their own stuff, at least only that section of the drop. then eventually, after a certain amount of points s reached, a team gets a bomb, which blows through the front of the enemy base....where they grab the "Core" kinda ike in Invasion....and once they get it to their own base they then have the codes to get past the lower orbit defense systems

Space battle time, the winning team must get into the enemy base and destroy the enemy's systems (Generator Defense) such as shields, life support, and engines....as the losing team is defending....there is a time limit for each phase...so don't worry, then after the ship enter the "Critical Failure" state, it starts shaking violently, at this point victory is inevitable, and impossible to reverse. The team about to win has to make it out of the ship alive for extra points which in turn will earn them extra credits, not a lot though, don't worry, each team gets a junkload of credits for just playing the whole game

but the winning team must make it out, by the way, everyone now only has one life, so now its the defending teams turn for the offensive, they must kill the rest of the enemy team before they all make it out, if even one makes it out its considered a total victory, so this part is pretty much infection, without real zombies. and thats how the game ends, of course, I have many different scenarios in mind, but this is just one....

perhaps there is more than just the normal three endings? (victory, loss, draw)

3. the reason we stop at 20 v 20 is because asking for more would rally be, asking for too much, 20 vs 20 is actually at the tips of reality, if even on the chart...plus we feel that any more would be too hectic, which IS possible
