I like the diffrent choices on the ship, but another objective, like capture the enemy leader alive and bring him back to your ship alive, and be able to make him give you answers to where something is and that could be your next objective. But say your leader got cought you can go into the enemys ship to go get him out. please send me a repley if you like it or not.

I haven't seen ONE person suggest any one bit of programming advice. If you want Bungie to do this kind of thing you have to help them at least a little bit to get it off the ground, so far all we have are ideas. Driving a pelican would be basically impossible... To back up that statement, whenever you see someone drive through the gates on the top spawn of high grounds, they lag back and forth. This is because its an environmental element, and each person has their own view of it, and the hosts network can barely handle that fence, so how would it handle a pelican?

We need people to get on halo 1 and code some nicely done LUA to make this a reality, I'm slightly skilled in LUA so if anyone decides to start this, email me @ zacharym123@gmail.com.

Well dont they have star wars battle front 2 for the xbox 360? Yes right? They can take some of the coding from the space battle and recode it to fit into this new gametype.

That is a good idea. Of course you cant just have one game type because what would happen to halo 3 if it only had CTF on matchmaking? And then you can have a forge type where you can relocate things on the home ship, on the battle field and so on.

Sounds awesome but I would just take out the dropping from the ship. The rest sounds awesome.

To all of you "Nay-sayers," who argue that this gametype would not work due to lag... I guarantee with the help of dedicated servers, that this gametype WOULD WORK. For those of you saying that the 360 console could not handle such a massive experience, I guarantee you it can... For those of you suggesting that we offer some coding for BUNGIE to base this work off of, we would first need to know the game's coding... And since that information is SRICTLY CLASSIFIED, than that idea is basically "BLAMMED." However, if some average joes can make this gametype a possibility for HALO PC using LUA coding, than it should not be a challenge for a well organized organization such as BUNGIE to create the code needed for this gametype.

1: when you say HEV, do you mean the pods like they have in odst? and 2nd: i think the idea is pretty cool but instead of droping how about people get pelicans and phantoms? one person drives one and they can hold up to about 10 people per pelican and some about 70 so how about pelicans? it would be kind of funner... i dont know the controlls could be simmiler to the hornet's control scheme. The cockpit can hold 3 people, 1 driver 1 person on the mini guns and another on the rockets. Then you can use points to upgrade the pelicans like on the open hatch you can add a turret and then upgrade it to a guas cannon and then upgrade your rockets to fuel rods or something... and maybe the other team spawns inside a covenant frigate and takes a phantom down... one of those classic halo 1 spirits or a good old halo 2 phantom but instead the 2 side turrets are fuel rod cannons... And after a good number of points you can upgrade both to hold vehicles which the driver of the pelican can swing by the frigate buy a warthog or a scropion or maybe even a weapons drop like a nice sniper set with 2 sniper riffles and some pistle ammo or a heavy set like a rocket launcher or a spartan lazar and a shotty or something... but you gotta use points to uprade your pelican or phantom to carry these and drop them into the battle front. I dont really like the HEV drop thing... its cool but it would get tired of looking at the same scenery you know? if you flew out in a pelican or phantom now we are talking. Again just a sugestion.

What if instead of having to buy your weapons you just had an open stash on the cruiser as well as on the map itself? That would atleast keep it at a more Halo feel. You also could have a stash of vehicles on the cruiser including pelicans. If you limited the number of HEV's, you will force people to fly down in pelicans and or other small aircraft. This would add a bit of skill with aircraft sort of like in Battlefield. If the game will be on the next platform and assuming that microsoft will build a more hardcore system capable of running such games, you could probably be capable of processing 32v32 multiplayer.

OK, you are not listening. This idea has those things. It has the Halo feel, but also gives you the option to order weapons if you have enough points gained. (not kill points, money points earned from each kill)

Great idea, but this should be thrown in as an addition to HEV's and drop pods.

That is awesome man, Bungie should really look into your idea. xD Make it a play list xDDD!!!

  • 09.16.2009 10:30 PM PDT

WORT WORT WORT

it would be cool if you could call in ai like hunters and marines to help you fight. and i think the time pelicans take to arrive should depend upon what is being transported and how many, like a warthog would take more time than a ghost and a pelican full of marines and a warthog should take longer than one with just a warthog.

and im pretty sure that if my crappy comp can run a halo custom edition map thats 5km long with 16 players and over 40 vehicles on the map (with nukes going off at the same time) the 360 can handle something like this.

Idk about the others who came up with the idea, but I am still only a senior in high school... I would like to become a member of the BUNGIE Game studio, but apparently they do not pay people to come up with ideas... I have posted a topic seeing if I could get a job like that before, and apparently, the answer is "no."
:'(

But finally someone is recognizing my genious. :)

A real test of a man is if he is willing to scrape a sharpened razor up and down his junk just to please a woman.

I like this idea for the most part, but I think that a class based system might be another possibility instead of the Counter Strike point spending system.

My main annoyance with the point spending system, is that once you die you lose your weapon. I like the idea that weapons are expensive to buy, but I think that when you die you should lose your all of your ammo instead of your gun, so upon your death you would have to buy more ammo instead of a new gun, with more powerful guns having more expensive ammo.

Another suggestion for the point system is improved stats and abilities, however these abilities would be fairly expensive like the upper class weapons and you would have to mix and match the abilities like in COD4.

My last suggestion pertains to the spawning. I think that it should cost points to spawn, and before everyone cries foul please hear me out. Lets say that you die, it would cost you x amount of points. If you wait for ten seconds, that cost is reduced by a third. If you wait another ten seconds, then the cost is reduced by another third, and after 30 seconds you can spawn for free.

To answer your question, hell no, I want to see a completely reworked Halo multiplayer.

"You can't touch music, but music can touch you."

Great idea, but I think that the whole system for buying weapons should be done before the game begins, but instead of getting the weapon from the start you have to fulfill certain objectives on the battle field to obtain it when you respawn.
