"I has seen the FNORDs"

Hey a good twist that would be great would be the ability for the covenant to be able to call in scarabs and UNSC to be able to call in Nukes (or a giant mecha master chief) mid battle. Seriously every match would feel like a campaign level. I can imagine me just in the middle of battle, a scarab lands on a person driving a forklift in front of me, and ill be like,"Crap, okay im gonna need 4 dudes to accompany me and drop me off on top of it" EPIC

(note: that's wat she said)

i love the idea but what about the vehicles its just that you talked about weapons and thats it. i think there should be some bases for both teams including the ships? or bungie should let us use phantoms and pelicans to drop of the vehicles but the pelican and phantom have no weapons

Ignore my gamertag. It's actually Dragonzzilla.

I will be making two versions of the Game Map on Forge World. One has the Purple FX for night, and maybe the Orange or nothing for day. After Reach comes out, check the File Share of MagickalMom for the two.

basic layout if you want i could send you a more refined version

20 vs 20 on a dedicated server

unsc ship and covenant ship

features pelicans and phantoms as troop carriers and supply nodes

spawning on either the carrier to drop in an hev or a pelican or spawning on a ground base

a system were you could call in support i.e bombing runs supply
drops vehicle drops and rienforcments

multiple game types slayer then territories then assualt

a point system to be used with the supply and vehicle drop functions

perfect map that includes every weapon and vehicle most likely forge world

radio channels 10 channels

4 squads of 5 for each team covenent and unsc

1 hour time limit

edit pelican or phantom also there is a time limit to remain on the carriers

I'll put tt least 1 of every vehicle and weapon on the map, if I can afford it after the bases' construction.

Keep it classy Flood.

I remember a similiar thread in the Halo 3 thread.

Where are we?

I'd like any idea for a game that utilizes Halo's unique gameplay and a game like Battlefield's massive maps and large amounts of players. And for this to be included with Reach or packaged as a brand new DLC would be amazing. The only problem I see with this is the possibility that you could run out of HEV Pods. Though this could easily be fixed by respawning all the players back on the ground.

Great idea for a gamemode ujjval!

It's a great idea.

I would change, as you anticipated, the part where we go and buy weapons with our points. Inside the Cruiser, there are numerous weapon stashes locked in chain-linked fences that become available every time you get a certain number of kills.

Each weapon stash, depending on how easy it is to unlock, would hold specific weapons (the stash that requires 100 points would hold ARs, Maulers, SMGs, and Frag Grenades. The last one that requires 100,000 points would hold a Spartan Laser, a few Swords, and a Missile Pod) These are just examples.

Ex. You get 10 kills (as you said) and imagine those 10 kills scored you 100 points. In order to open the first chain-linked fence to get to the first weapon stash, you need 150 points. Once you have 150 points, you can walk up to any of the stashes that require 150 points or less to unlock, and unlock it.

You bring up some good ideas.

I agree but 10 kills plus a killing frenzy and stuff should be more like 200+ points but the rest is a great idea

Lulz.

great idea but I picture like this...

theres 2 ships one covenant and one UNSC( HEVs and orbital pods )
the covenant are droped at a base exactly like the spartans, also there a long tube connecting the bases(great for sniping!).Vehicles are dotted in small Caches that require points
or after a very long point in time they unlock, after only 100 kills, your ship decides that the infantry is wore down enough to send in the bomb

I think your idea for the points is better but I am with you both.

John the Beast

Wow man that game sounds fun! However, the biggest problem would be the number of people in the game. I mean 20 people in one game is alot, but 20 per team is huge! And you are right, that would require a dedicated server and the host of the game would have to have a good internet connection. But yeah man that sounds like matchmaking a custom campaign mission! Really cool stuff man!

I have actually been thinking about trying the custom firefight when Reach comes out. I've been talking with my friends about Infection on Firefight. I have a post about it called Firefight: Infection. You should check it out...

Ok, first of all I would like to say that this is a new game mode, not the entire multiplayer experience. It gets it's own special spot on the main menu, along with forge and theater. This game mode would have to have large teams, probably like 20 vs 20, and it would only be possible with dedicated servers, due to lag.

So this is how the game begins. I can't find the thread for it but somebody came up with the idea of spawning in a UNSC cruiser(or a Covenant one) and entering the battlefield with a HEV. I like this idea. So the game starts off with both teams in a UNSC cruiser. You have to find a HEV pod and go down to "The Perfect Map"

"The Perfect Map" is a map, imo, that utilizes everything. That means every weapon, and vehicle. That means that the map must have large open areas for snipers, vehicles ect... but, it must also have tight areas where the shotgun would be the best weapon, and everything in between. It would be a hard map to make but I believe Bungie would be able to pull it off.

When you enter the map you will start off with normal team slayer. The score will be 200. Once you're team scores 200 kills, you will be given a bomb, and you must finish up the game with a game of assault. However you will ONLY be given the bomb if you reach 200 kills. If blue team has 200, but red team only has 150, then the red team won't be given a bomb. Once red team also get 200, the get their own bomb.

Now there has to be a few twists. A big one I think would be adding Campaign scoring. so every time you kill somebody you get points, and you get more points when you get medals. Now obviously these points can be used for bragging rights, but maybe they can do more. Ok lets say you were doing really good, you just got a killing frenzy, but you died. You have a lot of points, because you got 10 kills, and not to mention the medals. So you spawn in the cruiser, but instead of going straight down, you go to a weapons shop. With those points you can buy a secondary weapon. Now I bet the thing I just said probably made 50% of the Halo Reach forum's population get mad, but just bare with me. These weapons would be expensive, so even though you got 10 kills, maybe you only have enough points for a Battle Rifle, or Carbine. In order for you to get a sniper, you would have to have way more points. However to keep it fair you can only buy 1 weapon at a time, so you can't go down with a sniper and rockets. Don't worry though, there will still be weapons on the map.

Now if you have been reading this far and aren't mad at me, you might like what's next. Ever been in the position where you need a vehicle, except you can't find one. Well I think we should be able to call in vehicle drops, from a pelican. You would obviously call in the drops using your points. So lets say I called in a pelican to drop me a mongoose. I would have to hold my position, for 30 seconds, until the pelican comes. If I die, the pelican will come anyway, and drop the vehicle, anybody would be able to take it.

So that is the basic of the mode I am thinking of. Obviously there are problems with this idea, like communicating with a team of 20 but people have said a squad system might work. So yeah, this is my idea, and tell me what you think.

PLEASE READ
Oh and if you want to see everyone's idea's, go to page 8 and go to AbruptArc's post. Also I highly recommend you guys look at Half Demon ANBU's post on page 10. I would post them, but I don't have enough room. Ok, I have gotten a lot of post saying I've copied this idea from Section 8, and I would like to say I didn't. I had no idea what Section 8 was when I made this thread. I just found out about it when someone mentioned it a couple of pages on, and I then googled it. I watched some gameplay videos and all I found similar was dropping from orbit(in Section 8, it's more like the sky). And so I am sorry if this idea isn't "New" enough for you guys. Next time I make a thread about a new idea, I'll make sure no other game has ever done it before.

Because it's silly.

Look, if you want to play some overly elaborate type of game then your best bet is to make it yourself. Find a PC game that you can mod, get a team of like minded people together and make your game.

Im not sure if this has been said or not, but, I think it would be a good idea to either..
Spawn initially from a HEV pod, then after that have to wait for a pelican to drop you off after..

or

Spawn from a HEV every time unless you have enough points to buy a pelican drop ship for your squad or yourself...
