I didn't read this whole thread, so I don't know if this has been brought up yet.

What happens when say blue team gets wiped out. Red team moves to the drop pod area and basically spawn camps. The problem is spawning wouldn't be random, it would be in the same spot. So theoretically you could camp the drop area.

A good solution would be getting dropped in creates a 15 ft explosion radius upon landing, and the drop-ee is given invulnerability for about 5 seconds?

nice solution, but it was originally intended (or at least by me) that you would only drop at the beginning of the game, then when you wanted to spawn, you would choose the area you would spawn at, like in invasion, but of course HostileIntent27's idea would work as well, but I think the most fair way to prevent drop-killing would be to only drop at the beginning of the game.

Ah, that makes sense.

Check out my Forge Handbook blog at http://forge-life.blogspot.com for everything you could possibly need to know about the technical aspect of using Forge 2.0.

The Guide is nearly complete, but there is always room for new submissions, so remember to check back.

I'd have to say that the best option for making something seem like it was dropping in woud be to build a space to look like the interior of a cruiser or pelican and, where one would exit, put a teleporter that would then have someone fall out of the sky at a certain point (through a power-up that lets them survive the fall if necessary). With the modification privileges that we now have for the teleporters, this could be much more elegant than it seems. Seeing as we can now put vehicles through teleporters, the idea of vehicle drops isn't such a farfetched on either.

On the point of spawn camping, using one input teleporter and multiple output teleporters, it could be very easily randomized.

My game type would be like Gears' Meat Flag, except with a grunt

I think an extremely huge version of standoff would serve as good "bones" for the map

Ignore my gamertag. It's actually Dragonzzilla.

OK Guys, this is it. I need a name for the Game Type and map. If you don't give me good ones, I'll name it something u might not like.

Here are some suggestions, vote:

(Game Name - Map Name)

Vindicator - Guardians of the Core
Vindicator - Nightfall

Countdown - Guardians of the Core
Countdown - Nightfall

THIS IS HALO!And Pizza FTW!!!

It's a great idea, but with some with of the dirtbags in halo, here's a short story.Huge team battle November 5,2010.Noob stays back, hogging the sniper rifle and laser, missing with every shot, cause his attention is focused towards his computer, which is causing MAJOR lag on his game.Noob hears over radio "scorpion tank incoming"and gets ready to sprint as soon as the tank is dropped, the noob is in laughing until he runs into a land mine.

like headhunter you kill someone automaticly get the points and then you can go back to the ship via telloprter or something and buy wepons

Go huskers

Sounds like a lot of fun, but also sounds like it would take FOREVER to finish one game. If it took that long, it better be worth some serious credits for finishing.

Halo's huge now It will only die when Bungie decides they've had enough of it. Also listening to people is important but a lot of people don't know what tthey're talking about "hologram would be OP" for instance.

Does bungie ever listen to our pleas anyways? LOL we all have great ideals but we are not game developers. If the game developers would just listen they would have a great game that everyone would be addicted to. Even the people that are only playing this game til black ops comes out might stick around.

I love this game ideal. Ive always wanted to play a fps were you can buy guns and enter battle with massive teams but on a much more massive map. So it would be a more realistic firefight. Two main bases about 1000-2000 yards away from eachother with mini forts every 250- 400 yards. Along with sniper spots, trenches, and caved in dugouts for lmgs.

On this game type players should be able to leave whenever they want to, and new players would fill their spots, Because it could last more than an hour. I think it would be fun if it were to last over 3 hours for us gamers that just like to game for 3 hours straight lol. And when a player gets a spread less than or equal to -10 he should be booted from the game and some one else fills his spot so this assures the game stays balanced so people will actually stay in the game for 3 hours. A ten life limit on each player would also be cool. so its like 2 armies of 200 men and the score goes to 2,000 each kill worth 25 points and beginning weapon loadouts costing 100 points, second tire 500, third 1000, JUST ADDING SOME IDEALS. maybe this will spark something in someone elses head and we can create the ultimate game mode.

  • 09.16.2010 11:00 PM PDT

Why would bungie leave this out?????

  • 09.17.2010 12:16 AM PDT

the problem with this idea is that their isn't enough bandwidth to support that many simultaneous players in one game, not only that but with all the crappy connections out their it would be extremely laggy. then their is the problem that it is entirely possible that the x-box 360 cant even support this. im not saying that this is a terrible idea but it is improbable. i would love to play this game type, and i have no doubt that it will exist in some form or another in the future, just maybe not in a halo game.

bungie has already said they were done with halo, a long time ago too. halo is now in the hands of 343 industries. but bungie had a good run with halo and i am looking forward to both what 343 will do and the next big thing from bungie.

  • 09.17.2010 4:54 AM PDT

This is an excellent idea. I wonder what Bungie has to say about it.
